together.
Correct!
A triangle is a polygon with
What is a triangle? 3 sides and 3 angles.

Yes, your right! Side is a line segments and

do not cross each other.
What is side? What is angle? Angles are two rays meet at
a common endpoint.
Yes, your right!
A quadrilateral is a polygon
with 4 sides and four angles.

What is quadrilateral?

Very Good!

the Lesson. Objective: Describe
triangles according to sides
and angles.

E. Discussing the new 1. Activity

concepts and practicing new The teacher will group the class into four.
skills #1 (ACTIVITY)
I have here a sheet of papers wherein there’s an
illustration of a big triangle.

Divide it into small triangles. Figure out

on how many small triangles does it have.

F. Discussing new concepts Let see your outputs.

and new skills #2
(ANALYSIS) How many small triangles does it have? It has 8 small triangles
ma’am.
Does each group has the same answer?
Yes ma’am!

Very good! You got it right! It has 8 small triangles.

From these small triangles, are the sides and angles equal? No ma’am!

How do you say so? Ma’am because the forms of

the triangles are different
Yes class you have a point. witheach other.

G. Developing Mastery What are the triangles according to angles?

(Leads to formative The triangles according to
assessment) angles are right triangle,
Very Good! acute triangle and obtuse
triangle.
What are the triangles according to sides?

Very Good! The triangles according to

sides are equilateral triangle,
isosceles triangle and
scalene triangles.
H. Making generalization and To make it clear, triangles can be classified according
abstractions about the lesson to their side and angles.
(ABSTRACTION)
Let’s discuss first the triangles according to their
angles.

You already know that angles are the two rays at a

common end point.
1.
Right Triangle-
has right angle
which measures 90º.

2. Acute Triangle-
has three acute angles
each measures less than 90º.

3. Obtuse Triangle-
has an obtuse angle
which measures more
than 90º but less than 180º.

Now let us discuss the triangles according to their

sides.
Again, sides is a line segments and do not cross each
other.

1. Equilateral Triangle-
Has three equal sides.

2. Isosceles Triangle-
has two equal sides.

3. Scalene Triangle-
has no equal sides.

I. Finding practical The Teacher divide you into six groups. Each group (The pupils are doing their
applications of concepts and representative will pick a piece of paper in the box. activity)
skills in daily living Each piece of paper has a kind of triangle written on
(APPLICATION) it. You describe that particular triangle you chose.

J. Evaluation of Learning A. Identify the following triangles according to their

(Give remarks if the lesson is finished or not finished. If not finished, give the
reasons.)

REFLECTIO A. No. of learners who earned 50% on the formative assessment.

N: B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation.
C. Did the remedial classes work? No. of learners who caught up with the
lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well?

F. What difficulty did I encounter which my Principal/Supervisor help me

solve?

G. What innovation or localized materials did I use/discover which I wish to

share with other teachers?
