III. PRELIMINARIES
Good morning, Class! Good morning, Ma’am!

We are good, Ma’am!

1. A. Greetings
How are you today?

I’m happy that you are all good, Class!

Before we begin let us all stand for a short prayer.

Let us put ourselves in the presence of God. Together

let’s pray. (The students keep
silent and pray.)
(the teacher project the prayer on the screen)
2. B. Prayer link:

Amen.
(Students answer)
You can now take your seats.
Thank you, Ma’am.
Let me check your attendance. Looks like none of you
are absent in my sitting arrangement. All seats have been

Attendance
Very good Class!
4. D. Reading of House Before we continue, let us recall our guidelines
Rules when we are inside our classroom.

1. Raise your hand if you wish to answer

2. Avoid using smartphones unless needed

in the discussion or an activity
3. Be participative
4. Be respectful to your classmate and to
(Students answer)
your teacher Yes Ma’am.

Do you understand?

Okay, that’s great.

5. E. Checking of Before we proceed with our lesson, please pass your (Students pass their
Assignment assignments. assignments)
6. F. Motivation “Let’s have a short activity called: Label it!”

(Students answer)
Hidden Line, Ma’am.

Can you give me the secret word for number

1? Section Line

very good.
Extension line
How about for number 2?
Leader line, Ma’am.
Very good

Next is number 3?

Correct, what is the secret word for number

4?

Correct, very good.

I guess every one of you are now ready for our
new lesson.
IV. LESSON PROPER

I have the mystery pictures here, now look

closely at the picture, and observe.

(Student answer)
1. A. Activity It is projected in 3d
form, and has views,

What can you say in the pictures?

Correct, good observation.

Exactly, we can see that it is in 3d form, and

has different views.

We can see the front view, top view and the

right side view of the object.
2. B. Analysis Our topic today is about……

(project the 4 pics one word to guess the topic)

(Student answer)
Orthographic
Projection, Ma’am.
Correct, very good.

At the end of the lesson you will be able to:

● Identify different views of orthographic
projections

● Project the three main views of an object

● value the importance of orthographic
Drawing.

3. C. Abstraction
Orthographic Projection is a projection with all
the views arranged at right angles to each other. It
completely describes the given object in size and design.
It is generally used as the basis for all working drawings.

Ortho means “straight or at right angle” and

graphic means “written or drawn”, projection
comes from two Latin words: “pro” meaning
forward and “jacere” meaning to throw.
D. Application Let us have the representative from group 1 to
answer their given question.

(question projected on the screen)

What is the purpose of different views in Group 1 Representative:

orthographic drawing? To clearly input the
details of the object. It
may be used by
engineers, designers,
architects, and technical
artists to help a
manufacturer
understand the specifics
of a product that needs
to be created, so that a
person looking at the
drawing can see all the
important sides.

Correct, Orthographic drawings are useful

especially when a design has been developed to a stage
whereby it is almost ready to
manufacture.

And the next question will be answered by

group 2 representative.
Group 2 Representative:
(question projected on the screen) Orthographic projection
is a
What is orthographic projection used for? Necessary
component of technical
drawing

and helps provide useful

information on the
proportions,
structure, and
appearance of a drafted
object

Very good, since orthographic drawings show

multiple viewpoints, they are helpful to make
sure, that a product or object can be accurately created in
accordance with an engineer's requirements.

Everyone got the correct answers,

congratulations for a job well done.
V. CLOSURE
A. Generalization The Following Three views are prepared in the
orthographic drawing.
1. Front View:

This view is prepared by placing the object in

front. The length and height of an object are
shown in this view.

● The front view (FV) shows the other forms

by ways of hidden lines.
● The front view is drawn on the LOWER
LEFT PORTION of the drawing; the TOP
VIEW is directly aligned on top of the front
view.

2. Top View:

This view is prepared by looking at the object

from the upper side. The length and breadth of

the object is shown in it.

● The top view (TV) shows only the shape of
the object.

3. Side View:

This view is prepared by looking at the object

from the right side or left side. The breadth and
height of the object is shown in it.

● The whole drawing or projection must be on

the left and the assembly drawing (isometric
or oblique drawing of the object) must be on
the right.

Steps in projecting the three main views of

an object

1. Lightly construct the front view

2. lightly construct the top view directly None, Ma’am.
over the front view. extend the lower
side of the top view to intersect a
vertical line drawn to the right of the
front view
3. project the features of the front view to
the right of the vertical line. draw a line
at 45 degrees from the point of intersection.
4. project the contours of the top view to
the 45 degrees line. then project the
contours vertically to construct the right
side view.
5. erase all unnecessary lines. complete the
finished linework to obtain the required
orthographic views.

Do you have any questions?

VI. ASSESSMENT
A. Evaluation
Let’s have our quiz, keep all your notes, only
your pen will be seen on your desks.

(distribute the answer sheets)

I MULTIPLE CHOICE. Encircle only the letter

that corresponds to your answer.

an object on a two-dimensional surface

b. orthographic drawing
c. isometric drawing
d. perspective

2. Found at the back of the front view.

a. rear view
b. side view
c. frontal plane
d. none of the above

3. The perpendicular distance between two

4. The word orthographic comes from the

two Greek words “ortho” and “graphos”
meaning
a. forward
b. straight/at right angle
c. to write/to draw
d. both b & c

5. Which of the following statements are

true?
a. An orthographic projection serves as a sort of
universal language between designer and
builder
b. An orthographic projection is a
two-dimensional drawing of a side of a
three-dimensional object.
c. An orthographic projection often contains a
front view, a right-side view, and a top view.
d. all of these statements are true.

Time’s Up.

Finish or unfinished, pass your papers 5, 4, 3,

2, 1
B. Assignment Now, for your assignment, on a long size bond
paper, you will create your own 3D object and
draw in different views, including isometric.

The deadline of your assignment will be on April 10,

2023, I will be collecting your assignments on that day
only.

This is the rubrics in making your 3D object,

you will be graded based on the given rubrics

Rubrics:
None so far, Ma’am.

Good bye, Ma’am JC!

Thank you for teaching
us.

Do you have any clarifications with the assignment?

Okay, class dismissed see you next meeting.
