Gunite and Shotcrete

MB mix specializes in supply of Gunite and Shotcrete mixes to all sizes of jobs.

Shotcrete and Gunite are terms used for concrete that is conveyed through a hose
pneumatically projected at high velocity on to a surface. These products can be
supplied either in dry form for water addition on site (commonly called Gunite), or
in wet mix form where water is added at the batch plant (commonly called
Shotcrete).

The concrete is placed and compacted at the same time due to the force that it
leaves the nozzle. The flexibility of the placing technique allows for structures of
all shapes, including vertical and overhead surfaces to be poured.

In situ strengths up to 50 N/mm2
5 mm maximum aggregate size
Wet mix or Dry mix as per customer requirements

Our mixes are designed to meet the customers requirements and end use. Typical mix designs will incorporate cement, fine aggregate

of maximum size of 5 mm, and water reducing admixtures (if wet mix). Where a denser more durable product is required microsilica is

added. Also where additional crack control or structural integrity is required polypropylene or steel fibers can be added.
