5th Grade website :excelsiorlionsgohigh.weebly.com

We have reviewed for the EOGs, we have looked back at all that we have learned this year, and we have
moved forward into our testing like the well-prepared geniuses that we are! Please celebrate the end of
5th grade testing and your student putting forth their BEST effort to show what they know! From what
we observed, our students were focused, confident, and did their VERY best trhoughtout EOG testing
and we are EXTREMELY proud of each and every one of them!

We we will do a quick study of Mark Twain and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer as we round
out the year. We will be watching a video adaptation of Tom Sawyer on the last day!

Mrs. Althoff & Ms. Brackett will be leaving the 5th grade classrooms but not Excelsior Classical Academy! We
will be found throught the building, in all-level classrooms (including 6th) helping out with some administrative
and training duties- we are so excited that we will be able to see (and work with) our 6th graders a bit next year!

Some of you may have noticed, that Mrs. Althoff is adding another little person to her family- this change will
allow her to still be a part of the excelsior family and spend important time with her own family.

Ms. Brackett is starting a principal program- a Masters of School Administration- in the fall and will only be
able to work in a school half-time. Next year, she will be able to help out the students of Excelsior part of the
time while she is a student, herself, the other part of the time! The Masters schedule will be demanding- even
requiring Ms.Brackett to miss the last day of this school year to be at principal school orientation- but she will
see you all next year!!!
