5th Grade website :excelsiorlionsgohigh.weebly.com

This week, we are finishing work on averages, line plots, and coordinate graphs and line graphs. Ask
your student what these different concepts are, and how they might be used in real-world
application!

Students are working on their (in-class) final project for The Narrative of Frederick Douglass,
An American Slave! Students will be able to bring materials from home, and may choose to
work independently or in groups; presentations will be Thursday and Friday! All Frederick
Douglass questions turned in today have been graded and returned. Check in with your student to
find out which final project they have chosen and what their grade was on their Frederick
Douglass questions!

We are continuing our study of the factors leading to The Civil War. Students are responsible for
completing notes on sections 11-17 independently. All notes for chapters will be due in class April
27th. Most students have already been using their extra work time to begin on these independent
sections!

We are finishing our study on ecosystems with a focus on conservation and extinction. All
missing/ incomplete assignments are due by the 22nd!

* Please see the homework calendar on the website for this weeks details.
* Students should be working for no longer than 40 minutes per subject, per night. If you or your student
reaches a frustration point OR you are unclear of what needs to be done for the work, please send us an email
so that we can help your student first thing the next morning.
