SALAMINA TOURIST
SITES
Definitely Salamina, is a beautiful
municipality that is located an hour
and a half from the capital of the
department, Manizales.
Its architectural heritage is
impressive, was declared National
Heritage in 1982. The construction
techniques used are the bahareque
and the wall. The balconies in the
houses, painted in bright colors
and with flower beds and the
carved doors of the houses, make
for themselves a spectacle worth
admiring.
The calm and the peace in which
its inhabitants live is reflected in
the hanging ferns, the pots with
flowers and the piles of water that
they maintain in the interior of its
courtyards.
Salamina, is located within the 10
most beautiful towns of Colombia
and is part of the network of towns
of cultural interest at national level,
because it is a cultural interest.
In the rural area there are places of
tourist interest, being the most
outstanding, the Palm Wax Forest
La Samaria, the Chamber River
and the Cedral, also stand out, Los
Mangos y la Chcola.
In the town center of Salamina we
can admire the Historic Center,
Bolivar Square, Chapel of Our Lady
of Carmen, the Municipal Palace
and Casa Jimenez, among others.
Salamis is called the Village of
Parks, as it has a variety of parks
like, Founders Park, Poets Park.
The Amiguitos Children's Park and
the Cuchilla Park, among many
others.
At Hacienda El Cedral we can know
the breeding of trout, cattle
management, and pig farming. The
hacienda offers horseback riding
to enjoy the beautiful landscape.
To the south we find a paradise for
ecological tourism, in the Pocito
Trail we can take walks, observe
the flora and fauna, and enjoy the
famous bath in the Pocito river.
The main festivities of the
municipality are:
- The Norman Cattle exhibition that
is held in May, recognized
nationally and the first was held in
1948.
- The Feasts of the Immaculate

November 29 to December 8 and
