Rationale For Item

The new curriculum requires brand new materials. A science kit is beneficial since it will align with the NGSS
and provide many resources and activities all in one.

This is an item that may be purchased, but also may not be. If a stakeholder finds and already created
curriculum from an outside resource that matches one of the topics, the money will be set aside if it
requires a cost.

There will be much that will be printed for all teachers and students both in black and white and in color.
Separate money will be set aside to purchase toner cartridges as they are needed for the printing and
copying.

There are going to be other resources and materials that will be needed for lessons, mostly for
experiments. All teachers will see what materials they currently have, but new ones will need to be
purchased as well. Depending on the resource and cost, there may be up to 2 of one item that will be bought.

The goal for iPad applications is to find those that are free, but there part of the budget will allow up to 10
to be bought. They must meet the needs of the topics, and prove their use in the classroom.

This website will be useful in creating new activities and lessons. Again, the goal will be to find free lessons,
but up to 10 may be purchased through the budget depending on the cost.

There may be problems that occur which require a cost to repair. There also may be materials not thought
of ahead of time that extra money should be set aside for.

Many of the stakeholders will be given a small bonus for their time put into the project, and
hours over the summer.
