1. GENERAL

M/s IOCL is setting up a Inter-phase Processing Facility at Mohanpura, Jaipur. Mixture of MS


and HSD shall be received from pipelines. Received mixture shall be stored in 1 no. storage
tank. Mixture is transferred to distillation column for separation. The pure MS and HSD are
transferred to MS tank and HSD tank respectively.
Design capacity of Inter-phase Trans-mix plant is 6.4 TPH (8.4KLPH).

2. SCOPE
This document indicates site condition & climatic data, facilities at plant & general basis for
Process Design.

4. BASIS OF PROCESS DESIGN


4.1 Main Inter-phase Processing facilities are as follows inside battery limit of Plant:

i. SPLITTER COLUMN: This is a Tray Tower. Liquid transmix (mixture of MS & HSD) is
received in Splitter column by pumps. Separation takes place in the column and near MS and
HSD are collected in their respective near MS and HSD tanks.
ii. SPILITTER COLUMN REBOILER: Bottom product (HSD) is heated in Electric heated kettle
type Re-boiler.
iii. OTHER FACILITIES: Following facilities are provided:

HEAT EXCHANGERS:

a) Feed Bottom Exchanger

c) Side Stripper Re-boiler
d) Near MS Water Cooler
e) Near HSD Water Cooler
f) Trim cut Water Cooler

iv. COOLING TOWER: 1 No. of Induced Draft Cooling Tower and cooling water pump along with
cooling water chemical dosing system, side stream filter and cooling make up water treatment
unit shall be provided as a package by vendor.

4.2 COMPOSITION OF MS and HSD:


Composition of feed MS & HSD is as follows:

4.3 CORROSION ALLOWANCE:


Internal Corrosion Allowance = 3 mm (Min.) for CS Vessel

4.4 GAS DETECTION SYSTEM

Suitable Infrared Type gas detectors shall be placed at critical locations. First Level alarm shall
be set at 20% of Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) and second level alarm at 60% of LEL.

4.5 MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION

Material of construction for various process & utility lines is as follows:

4.6 NOISE CRITERIA

i) The maximum allowable noise level nearby equipment shall be 85 dB within one meter from
the equipment, during normal operation and with control valves in line.
ii) Overall noise level in the working environment shall be below 85dB at 1m.
iii) The average noise level shall be 60 dB at 100 m from the boundary of plant.

4.7 HAZARDOUS AREA CLASSIFICATION


Inter-phase processing facility shall be under Hazardous Area Zone-1, Gas Group IIA/IIB, Temp
Class T3.

4.8 FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM


Tapping of new Fire water network for Inter-phase processing facility shall be taken from existing
Fire water header. The tapping point location is provided by M/s IOCL.

4.9 ETP/ OWS


Oily water and contaminated rain water shall be routed to existing ETP/ OWS.

report shall be provided by IOCL.

Since all the control valve / ON-OFF/ ROSOV are provided electro-hydraulic operated.
Therefore, no instrument air system is required.

The system will be designed in accordance with the latest addition of the codes and
standard.
