Project Background:

The production is an output of the four years stay and experience of the current Grade
10 Dance Major (Folk Dance) in Philippine High School for the Arts.

For the last four years, the productions has 2 parts; the first part was a showcase of
different folk dances while the second part exhibits various creative dances (contemporary
dance pieces) choreographed by the Grade 10 folk dancers. This years production will be
different from the previous productions; it will be a one part production combining
Contemporary and Folk Dance.

The production is about polygamy. It will be an elaboration of polygamy through an

epic about different diwatas in the Philippines.

Objectives:

General:
To preserve and advocate Philippine Culture through giving a dance concert
performance of combined traditional folk dances and choreographed creative dances

To exhibit a dance production as a product of an artistic and educational program and

activity of the said group and institution

Specific:
1. To show people how young artists appreciate Cultural traditions by showing polygamy
in an epic about diwatas in the Philippines.
