youth umbrella (SONYO) on a number of projects funded by EU, PMZ, USAID,
UKAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA, and Global Funds. In addition, I have a strong
background of program management and contribution of designing,
implementations, result frame management, M&E system, youth and women
advocacy, entrepreneur, and capacity building of staff management, Familiar with
tools of PRA, CVC, APSF, PMERL, EWS and other related tools. Qualified and
experienced professional with extensive hands-on expertise combined with wide
experience in the set-up, project management, Capacity building, Procurement,
logistics management, Staff management, budget management, Government

PROFILE:

Experienced project/program management professional specialising in management


for FSL programs, livelihood, governance and pace, youth and development, durable
solution with a refugees, IDPs and returned people, security and post-conflict
peacebuilding. Experience working for an international NGO in Somalia on

1. Representation
I am Protecting and promoting the vision, mission and interests of consortium

Trained to refugees, IDPS for land use planning and joint balancing of competing
land to uses by all stakeholders and the joint identification of those uses to the

Provided technical expertise and manages technical staff focusing on areas such as
agribusiness, enhanced agricultural production, post-harvest handling, storage,
and processing, improved food safety and security, improved market linkages,
business development, new product marketing and branding and regional trade
facilitation and capacity building of agricultural grantees.

Advised on the development and collection of relevant end market research as well
as provided analysis on the information and supervise the broad dissemination of
the information to Somaliland and Somalia stakeholders and potential investors.

In collaboration with the Project Manager, I had designed and review capacity
building plan for ministry, regional and district officials. Designed a relevant work
plan in consultation with the Project Manager and ensure a timely implementation
of capacity building activities

Worked with project team members to organize local trade missions,


competitiveness events, value chain working group platforms and broader
stakeholder forums in Somaliland refugees from Yemen, Ethiopia and internal
displaced people in Togdheer region, Awdal, Sool and Sanaag region. I do

Achievements:
Co-ordinated and worked with relevant state-level government authorities, local
government institutions, international agencies, non-governmental organizations,
community-based organizations and local communities in order to ensure the
smooth execution of project activities.
Managed the programme strategy and implementation modalities in coordination
with Global Fund, KSA projects, beneficiary communities and other relevant
stakeholders (Immigration department, Security forces, DRC, UNHCR).

Represents to all appropriate authorities and act in all official work concerning the
IOM-Berbera in Somaliland. Coordinated all of the activities of the IOM-Berbera
including opening and closing of offices in consultation with the Head office.
Ensured that the HR aspects of IOM-Berbera programme implementation and
restructuring in Berber are delivered according to best practice HR standards and
in compliance with local legal procedures and organisational policies, Overseeing
preparation of local employment contracts for Berbera staff

Developed project work plans jointly with CDRD project staff of both two our
partners of DRC and other partner agencies, and in consultation with CDRD
stakeholders. Provided assistance to IOM staff and our INGO partners like DRC staff
responsible for project implementation to ensure that CDRD project is implemented
in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Operations Manual and of the
agreements between DRC and IOM.

I was the responsible for analyzed the security factors and levels of risk related to
safety of IOM staff and their dependents and made written recommendations for

Achievements:
Ensured provision of supervisory support to 5 program staff in the region.
Implemented CARE's performance management system with all direct supervisors,
and. Identified development opportunities for staff, and implement a training plan
to respond to those needs. Liaised on a daily basis with HR, procurement, finance,
grants, logistics and administration to guarantee the smooth running of activities.
Prepared and used the methodology of data collection, community mobilization
and I kept the long term programs sustainability and functionality.

Prepared the appropriate templates for the budget by all concerned department
and projects in Sanaag CARE. Complied with the approved policy of budgeting
regarding the deadlines and the management of the budgeting process. Received
the budget estimates from all the departments of the organization and critically
examined them for correctness, accuracy and completeness; and conformance
with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objective.

Ensured and coordinated the partners' assessment process with sufficient


transparency including Due Diligence and Partners' Capacity Assessment before

I had supported of Communities to manage natural resources for drought


management and conflict mitigation. Pastoralists trained on fodder production &
storage and provided access to storage facilities. I planned and supported the HHs
enabled to protect animal assets during period of drought. I had created VSLA
groups, trained and supported for their functionalities.

Empowered pastoralists and agro-pastoralists with knowledge and skills to make


them experts in their own context. Enabled pastoralists and agro-pastoralists
livelihoods to become more resilient and less vulnerable to disasters, such as
droughts, floods, etc.

Supported pastoral and agro-pastoral communities learn new ways to solve


problems and adapt to change and uncertainty. Sharpen the ability of pastoralists
and agro-pastoralists to make critical and informed decisions that strengthen their
coping mechanisms. Demonstrated to pastoralists and agro-pastoralists how to
best organise themselves and their communities

Trained rangeland committees for ecologically sustainable development (ESD) of

on necessary improvements through established Risk Assessment format.

Achievements:
Leaded the development of an appropriate Food Security and Sustainable
Livelihood intervention strategy within Somalia context that includes early
recovery, disaster risk, reduction and community development.

Co-ordinated surveys and rapid assessments, including training, planning, analysis


and report writing. Ensure appropriate field supervision is undertaken and that
protocols are adhered to. Had the responsibility for developing, standardizing and
deploying survey tools and other data collection forms to realize the effective use

Supported sub-national and governoratal level in the development of governorate-

Achievements:
Implemented activities to improve SONYO's advocacy and communication for
tackling under decision making participations at national (national youth policy)
and county levels. Implemented different advocacy and communication
strategies/mechanisms to ensure the inclusion of youth development on the
countries' political and development agenda

Developed and communicated advocacy messages targeted to various


stakeholders and decision-makers using evidence based communication tools and
platforms. Disseminated updates on new developments in youth advocacy, new
development in government policies, regional and international events, etc.

Coordinated global campaigns and events such as world youth day in Hargeisa,
Global Handwashing day. Give the populations SONYO is working with a voice to
influence national and international decision- makers to increase efforts to fight
discriminations, humiliations, and secure adequate youth future.

CONSULTANCIES:

Nov2011-June-2012: Local Consultant, Somaliland Non-State Actors (SONSAF)


Achievements:
Provided a broad range of technical assistance and capacity development to
government officials, civil society organizations, or other stakeholders. Facilitated
public dialogue on governance and civic engagement between government and non-
governmental actors through technical assistance to local civil society organizations.

Leaded the identification of strategic approaches to multi-stakeholder dialogue,


government/civil society engagement, and government responsiveness to citizen
needs. Supported the State Directors, COP and the DCOP in the development of the
project strategic framework and work plans for the program implementation to ensure
the achievement of the program goals.

Worked with local public servants on engaging with constituents and addressing their
priorities by providing technical advice and guidance. I Provided leadership and
support to the development of a legal unit within the SONSAF ensuring that local
partners have in place the requisite legal framework to support it as an efficient,
effective, and transparent organization.

Ensured strong linkages are built between UNDEF, partners and relevant Government
