Each bar represents one of the 8 factors that makes up the Safety Climate Tool

The Safety Climate Tool is able to break down each of the 8 factors results, showing
organisational responses to the individual questions that make up a factor.

The SCT provides you with a benchmark for each of the 8 factors within the tool
against HSL s all industry average dataset of around 45,000 responses.

Whydowelimitdemographics?
To prevent overloading the end user and to provide meaningful results, the tool
limits the number of demographic options you can use.

The tool does not require any of your staff to log in (as this is only for the
survey administrator) or provide any details other than the demographic
questions you ask.
However, if there are fewer than 10 responses for a given demographic

the tool will not display any information to the administrator analysing
the data. This is a key message to communicate to staff - they cannot be
singled out.

The tool is able to provide a powerful visual representation of the percentage
favourable responses of each role within the organisation.

The SCT results describe one facet of your

safety culture. It is essential for your
organisation to explore face to face with staff
why they respond in the way they did and very
importantly, what suggestions they have for
improving safety culture.

The Safety Climate Tool is purchased on a 5 year licence and is based on the size of your organisation
(or the size of the population you intend to survey if this is a subset).
This payment is a one off payment that will cover your organisation to run the safety climate tool up to
your limit as many times within these 5 years. If you do a subset, you can upgrade if you would like to
extend the survey to other parts of the organisation.
