New Faces at Meadowlark
We would like to welcome our new teachers and staff members and staff
members. Joining us for 2nd grade are Mrs. Amy Westrope and Mrs. Paula
Pederson. Mrs. Kristin Truscott will be joining us in 3rd grade, in 4 th
grade Mr. Colin Welsh and in 5th grade Mr. Matt Santala. We are also
welcoming Mrs. Kayla Bettise and Mrs. Casey Del Costello in art.
Meet and Greet
We are excited to invite everyone to come and meet their
teachers, see their room and bring their supplies on August
22nd from 4-6. The doors will be locked from 2-4 so that
teachers are ready to meet all the families and we will open
our doors at 4p.m. We will be having a chalk walk on the
north side of the building and PTA is selling t-shirts and pop-
sicles to continue to fundraise for our new playground. We
are looking forward to seeing you all.
Open House
We would like to welcome parents to our open house on
Thursday, September 7th from 6:00-7:15. All parents will gath-
er in the commons for a short presentation and then head
out to classrooms. This is a great time to learn about grade
level expectations for the upcoming year as well as ask ques-
tions.

GDA Position
We are in need of a General Duty Assistant for lunch. If you
are interested in spending 10:4512:45 each day with some
of the most awesome kids in Billings, let us know. This is a
paid position. Please call if you have any questions.
Early Out EVERY Wednesday
Every Wednesday, all students will dismiss 1 hour early. This means that grades K-3 dismiss at 1:30
and 4-5 dismiss at 2:10 pm. Teachers will be using this time for PLC and grade level training. This
will be a great time to schedule appointments for kids so they will not be missing valuable class-
room learning.

Dont Be Late!
It is so important for your child to be at school on time every day. The last morning bell rings at 8:25
and they are considered tardy after that. We are working hard to cut down our number of tardies
every day. Parents please help us by getting your child here on time. We also ask that you pick up
your child after school on time. Our office is a busy place and it is hard to keep track of children
who have been waiting for pick up. We cannot have younger kids waiting for their older siblings to
dismiss.

Great ways to fundraise for Meadowlark Elementary

Box Tops for Education remember to clip those box tops off boxes you buy at the grocery store
and turn them in to the school. Mrs. Treglown, our librarian, turns these into new books for our li-
brary!

Office Depot When you buy any item at Office Depot, let them know you are from Meadowlark. A
percentage of all purchases are returned to the school.

Target By using a Target credit card and specifying Meadowlark Elementary, a percentage of your
purchase is returned to the school. For those of you who dont carry a balance, you can also pay off
your credit card purchase right then and there and Sandstone still gets a percentage.

Morning Walk
Every morning the students who arrive at school before 8:25 need to join the morning walk. It is a
great way to get some fresh air and wake up the brain so it is ready to learn. Supervision on the
playground does not start until 8:10. We ask parents to please make sure students are not on
school grounds prior to that time. ALL students on the playground must walk. We love parents to
join this walk, also. What a great way to get to spend a few more minutes with your child.

First Day of School All teachers will be out with signs so that you know where to meet them.
On the second day of school, we will officially start the morning walk.

Class Lists will be posted on Friday, August 18th at 3:00 pm. We will post
these lists on our front doors.
