My Expectations of You:

-Be present both physically and mentally


-Be prepared (bring materials, have HW done, be
ready to discuss literature, etc.)
-DONT BE RUDE- including, but not limited to:
-talking while Im talking
-talking while others are sharing Grading System
-being generally disruptive/combative
-being distracted by your cell phone/chromebook

What does that mean??

-Grade categories are MINOR and


MAJOR

-Assignments are given point values


based on length and rigor.

-Pay attention to how many points


TOTAL your grade is out of (i.e.
100/150 points is a 66%, 50/50 points
is 100%)

*Bottom line: Your grade will


always show up as a percentage on
your progress reports and report

Make-Up Work
-10% of the original grade will be deducted
EACH day the assignment is late for up to 5
school days Tutoring Times:
A.M. Tutoring: Each morning
-Assignments turned in after the 5 day (8:15-8:45 a.m.). Sign up sheet in
window will receive a MAXIMUM grade of the about section in google
50% classroom. No sign up, no tutoring.

-You have 1 day for EACH day you miss P.M. Tutoring: Each afternoon in
plus 1 EXTRA day to make up-work the Fall only (4:10-4:30 p.m.).

Course Description and Materials

Course Description: The purpose of English II is to prepare you for the


workload and expectations of English III, STAAR EOC, and College Readiness
plain and simple. In doing this, you will become a better reader and writer, while
honing your analysis, collaboration, and time management skills. I truly enjoy my
subject matter, and I work hard to plan engaging lessons that are both enjoyable
and challenging. I look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing what I
love!
