ADDITIONAL EVALUATION STUDENTS’ GUIDELINES FOR BASIC LEVEL

Please, do check Official Rubrics and Evaluation Calendar for Basic Courses, uploaded in PAIDEIA
IDIOMAS. We highly recommend paying close attention to your teacher’s instructions and guidance.
These fixed-day activities cannot be re-scheduled. If you fail to participate in any of the activities,
you will get a “0” grade on that specific activity.

The 4th additional grade will be made up of (3) three items described in this document.

A. My Progress Booklet - MPB: (Grade from 0 to 4)

Aim:

- Have students show competence in the use of communicative patterns acquired in the first unit,
using a written storybook / cartoon format.

- Make students aware of the use of the rubric criteria to assess their peers’ performance and their
own production.

Description:
- Students should prepare a booklet using a storybook or cartoon format (use of pictures and
illustrations is expected). At least two contextualized conversations should be written.
- Teachers must inform students of this activity from day 1 so students can work on it
progressively.
- Check the class day in which you are expected to hand it this activity; also, get familiar with
the Official Rubric (available and downloadable in PAIDEIA Idiomas) to be applied in this
activity to get an idea of what is expected from you. Look up this information in the grid in
this Paideia Section.

B: CLMS: Workbook performance (Graded from 0-4)

Aim:

- Become successful, independent learners by daily accessing the Cambridge LMS of the book either
from a tablet, smartphone, PC or Laptop, a whole world of personalized learning at your fingertips.

needs. CLMS follows an adaptive approach, so make a thorough, efficient use of it.

our web Page. Your teacher will assess and help you in the process.

on the CLMS. Remember the recommendations and technical specifications to take it, published on
PAIDEIA-Idiomas - specifications that mention amongst other details, that you have to access this
exam only with a laptop or PC with a wired internet connection –, remember that it is your
responsibility to read all the guidelines published on PAIDEIA Idiomas.

- The final grade is taken from the final percentage-course grade that your CLMS Gradebook Score
registers up to day instructed in the table above.

- Your teacher will use this conversion table to award you a final grade for the CLMS result:

C: Active Speaking task - AST (Graded from 0-4)

Aim:

- Engage in a meaningful communicative task, based on course content. This activity is based on the
communicative objectives of each Unit (CAN DO OBJECTIVES) which prepares learners for effective
real-world communication.

Description:

 Students will have to show competence of speaking skills (special focus on CAN DO
OBJECTIVES). Pay close attention to your teacher’s instructions and guidance.
 The task is performed on a fixed day (Check dates in PAIDEIA Idiomas). Read the warning
stated at the beginning of this page carefully.
 The day before the activity your teacher will encourage students to bring realia or other
resources to resemble a real-life situation the day of the activity. Remember not to be more
than 15 minutes late to class; otherwise, you will miss the chance to participate in the
activity.
 You don´t have to prepare or memorize any script, the idea is to show that you are
competent using speaking skills that will be evaluated according to an Official Rubric, also
available in Paideia.
 Although collaborative work is expected, students will be assessed individually based on
the official rubric prepared for this task.
 Each group presentation should take no longer than 3 minutes.
