MULTIPLYING AND DIVIDING RATIONAL EXPRESSION

Determine the excluded values that make the denominators & the numerator of the divisor equal to 0. Reorder
factors and express as multiplication by .Notice that once we rewrite the
division as multiplication by a reciprocal, we
follow the same process we used to multiply
rational expressions.

ADDING AND SUBTRACTING RATIONAL EXPRESSION
Adding and Subtracting Rational Expressions with Unlike Denominators. ... The LCM of the denominators of
fraction or rational expressions is also called least common denominator, or LCD. Write each expression using
the LCD. Make sure each term has the LCD as its denominator. Add or subtract the numerators.
