The speaker will be Dr Michael Keith-Lucas who will be talking to us about Pollen and Forensic
Science. This was an interesting talk, recommended!

Minutes of last meeting A copy is on the information table and on the website.
The Poppy Factory trip and the request for subsidised travel. The Additional Activities
committee had already decided that those going would pay for their own travel (between 25
& 13.50 depending on numbers)
A general reminder that if anyone changes address email or phone number please let me know
so that I can alter your details on the members private data base.
10 members went to Blenheim last week. Gill said it was good value for money. Took an hour
to get there and a little more to get home. She saw the state rooms, had lunch, went for a
walk, saw the butterflies. The gardens were very good. It was a hot day. Highly recommended.
Pimms and Ploughmans at Hall Barn Beaconsfield today. Marion B & Linda went. It was very
pleasant, setting delightful, entertainment not to their taste. They had a short walk. 130 WI
members there. No water available to drink. Recommended.
8. Forthcoming Events
a) The Craft Group - Craft Groups next meeting 27th July, at Traceys. Members to email
Wycombe Wenches if they would like to be added to the list. Tracey has bought items to make
vellum flowers.
b) Book Club The book clubs next meeting will be on 18th July discussing Learning to Swim by
Sara J Henry at Judiths home.
c) Bake & Share The next event will be in November
d) Mikron Theatre Company on 14th July in Bourne End, tickets have been booked for those who
were interested. Judith will email details to those going.
e) Treasure Hunt on July 20th Places still available. It has written clues and you have to find the answers
in the Town Centre. Cost is 5 which must be paid on July 11th. Arrive outside the Metro Bank between
5 and 5.30pm. Food at the Works afterwards should you wish to join us. It should last 60/90 minutes.
Members can bring friends/partners. Go around in twos or threes.
f) Kwik Fit Workshop on Thursday 21st September at 6.30pm. To be held opposite the cricket ground in
Wycombe. This is a free event.
g) Autumn Walk followed by lunch on Friday October 6th at 11am. Marion H will let us know the details in
due course.
h) A tour of the Poppy Factory on Tuesday 28th November in the morning. A minimum of 10 members
required. The tour is free but there is a cost for the coach of between 13.50 and 25- depending on
numbers. A donation to the poppy factory will be needed.
i) Friday 1st December Christmas Meal at the Red Lion.
j) Winchester Christmas Market on Thursday December 7th coach has been booked.
Members have paid for this trip.
k) WI theatre offer to see Agatha Christies Witness for the Prosecution at London County Hall
in February 2018 on Tuesday or Thursday evening. Minimum of 10 required and tickets are
42.50 instead of 58.50. need an idea of how many would be interested.
l) Ballot for American in Paris (BFWI event). No members wanted to go to this event next week
11. NFWI
An update on a few past resolutions and agreements:
Time to talk about Organ Donation regarding the resolution passed in 2014 at the NFWI annual
meeting. There are still many things we can do as individuals and as a WI. Please read the
leaflet.
Your rights as a family carer of someone in hospital. This leaflet has been produced and further
copies are available. This matter was raised at the 2016 annual meeting.
Resolution passed this year was End Plastic Soup! Members asked to read flyer.
Another passed this year was Alleviating Loneliness. Members asked to read flyer.
Resolution submission formIf any member wishes to raise a potential resolution for next year
the deadline is 15th September. Guidance notes were on the table for viewing. The next Annual
general meeting will be on 6th June at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.
Update on the NFWI website launch is running behind schedule but the new login details will
be sent through soon.
NFWI open day/s at Head Office- none of our members went this year.
12. AOB
There will be a fruit raffle at the September Meeting. Please bring some fruit to be collated
into raffle prizes.
The AGM is in October when all 3 officers will be standing down. We will need volunteers to
cover these places so that WW can continue
There will be no WW news in August
