Wycombe Wenches WI

1. Welcome – Helen welcomed our guests, Irene, Adele, Kate, Marilyn
(Jeanette’s Mum visiting from Bolton))

4. Before the refreshment break Helen Reminded members to:

Sign in and pay for Theatre tickets and there would be a ballot for
Science and investigation day. The four places were allocated to
Judith, Dawn, Chris B and Liz Hammond (Chris C kindly gave up her
ticket to Liz.)

Look at all the signup sheets for many BFWI events and WW
additional Activities including:

Mother said I Never Should on Friday 16th March at The Waterside


Theatre in Aylesbury – 5 spare tickets £15 for members.

Ocean Liners, Speed and Style at the Victoria and Albert Museum on
Monday March 26th – This event was cancelled the following week as
insufficient numbers booked to go.

Hearing Dogs Visit and cream tea - March 13th

5. Refreshments – Don’t forget to pay your £1 donation for


refreshments

6. WI Business:
Record of last month’s meeting – A copy is on the information
table and on the website.
The Committee have agreed to set up a Facebook page to
attract new members and show case some of our activities to
encourage interest and what we are about. No names will be
mentioned.

We now have new members packs made up with a welcome


letter to Wycombe Wenches included – used as good practice
at the Presidents training last month, a copy is on the side.
We do advertise our meetings in the Bucks free, next Door app
and Totteridge and Terriers News Magazine. Heather is keen to
extend our marketing and would like to head a small team if
anyone is interested or has experience or skills or contacts in
this area.

Thank you for all the kind donations for the Women’s Refuge
in Wycombe. This will be our regular monthly charity collection
from now on. Any items you have spare that can be passed on
to women and their children in need – toiletries, gifts, handbag
items, sanitary items, nappies new underwear etc.

Events in the last month


• Supper Club – Italian themed, next time “out” for a meal.
• Book Club “Only the Innocent” by Rachel Abbott. 22nd Jan at Helen’s
was good fun, next book is The Visitors by Catherine Burn’s, her
debut novel as reviewed in WI Life Magazine. To be discussed
• Craft club is 8th March at 2.30pm Tracey’s house making Sugar icing
flowers led by Simone. Please let Tracey know if you wish to go.

8. BFWI

• No newsletter this month as combined with January’s issue.

9. NFWI: Resolutions Choices were returned by Liz to HQ - First choice
was Health Matters followed by raising awareness of modern
slavery in the UK.

10. AOB: Helen mentioned that we have spare tickets for Tea and Tents
Camping 20th -23rd July 2018

11. Members were asked to return their chairs and tables to the corner
of the room
12. Meeting closed at 10pm
