3.5 Cross Curve of Stability

These curves for different angles of heel provide the values of GZ at
different drafts or displacements. These curves are obtained based on an
assumed position of center of gravity. Correction for center of gravity is
applied based on the actual distribution of load. KN-curve is obtained when
the right lever is measured from the keel.

3.6 Intact Stability Criteria for Towing Vessel

1. Area under the static stability curve up to 30 degree angle of heel shall
not be less than 0.055 meter-radian.
2. Area under the static stability curve up to 40 degree angle of heel shall
not be less than 0.09 meter-radian.
3. Area under static stability curve between the angles of heel 30 degrees
and 40 degrees shall not be less than 0.03 meter-radian.
