The future: will

In 2036 the population will increase a lot.

In 2036 the population will be increasing.

By 2036 the population will have increased a lot.


How to use the future.

Future Simple: theres a specific time when the event happens.

Future Continuous: describe things that will happen in the future at a


particular time.

Future Perfect: something that will happen without knowing the


specific time.
Future Continuous

Subject + will (ll) / wont + be + -ing verb.

Example:

Ill be working in health care.


I wont be working in this job.
Use:
The future continuous is used to talk about events in progress in the future.

Example:

Ill be working in the field of health care.


I hope Ill be using my languages.
Use:
It can also be used to talk about future events that are planned or expected to
happen if all goes according to plan.
Example:

Ill be working in the field of health care.


I hope Ill be using my languages.
Be going to (but not will), is used to express a prior plan (made before the
moment of speaking).

Example:

Why did you buy this paint?


Im going to paint my bedroom tomorrow.
Use:
Other modals such as might, may, should and could can also be used instead of will
to express a different degree of probability.

Example:

I may be working in publishing


Future Perfect

Subject + will (ll) / wont + have+ past participle.

Example:

My wife will have graduated.


I probably wont have had much experience.
Use:
Is used for events that are in the past when you view them from the future.
Its often used to talk about things you expect to be finished or achieved by a
certain future time.

Example:

My wife will have graduated by then.


I wont have had much experience until I get my first job.
Future Perfect

Future Perfect
Describes things that will have finished at a specific time in the future.
Is often used to talk about things you expect to be finished or achieved by a
certain future time.
Refers to an action that will happen before another action in the future.
The pattern is:

subject + will + have + verb P.P


(be going to)
Examples:
subject + will + have + verb P.P
(be going to)

I will have read a book.


She will have taken the bus.

As you can see, there are two events in the future, but since future
perfect is an action which will happen before another action in the
future, then we refer to this one.
Examples:
By the time Im thirty years old, I will have travelled to Europe.

There are two future events in this sentence:

present future future

I will travel to Europe by the time Im


thirty years old

But since we talk about an event that will happen before another event in the
future, then we talk about this: our Future Perfect
His father will have come home before she
graduates.
