Goal: What is French revolution? What happened during that time? (Actually, I have already
studied in my previous school, but I forgot most parts of it.)
Notes:
it began in 1789 and ended in late 1790s
It is the problem that the middle classes wanted power
Europeans were divided into Clergies, nobilities, Commoners and King.
Economics crisis in France make the king increased taxes to the commoners
The French Revolution is based on financial issue, because France has a war with England for 7
years, and the money was spent a lot in the war.
Louis XVI was not strong enough, and doesnt have absolute power.
Changed from agricultural estate to the industrial estate, and that makes the cost of food
drastically rise.
People were divided into three estates: first, second, and third. The first and second estate
doesnt have to pay any taxes, and all of the responsibility was taken by the third estate.

Reflection: The most information I got is in the Video, and I think I did well taking notes from it.
The video really gives me the brief information about the French Revolution, but it is not clear
yet. I had a plan to study more about this either tomorrow, because I didnt finish French
revolution yet.
Back to the 1760s (Louis XV), France bought the Corsica Island from Italy, and converted
the Italians to French, but the nobles disagreed. Louis XV has an idea that nobles of Italy will
stay as nobles, even they are French. There was an old man who first disagreed with this, but he
died just before King Louis XV gave his idea, so the family named his grandson just like him,
Napoleon. He was a high-class man at birth, so he was supported in education. When he grew
up, he used his Math and war training skills and he became a cannon specialist. In 1793, nobles
in Corsica asked to separate themselves to go with England. Then, Napoleons general was
selected by the rebellion. When the English comes for the nobles, Napoleons general ordered
him to fire a cannon at them, but Napoleon refused to do that. He gave a reason that the range
is too far. His general liked his idea, and let him be the controller of the cannons. Napoleon
started to improve the cannons by guiding the terrains that is appropriate for the cannon to
shoot. Also, he ordered more cannons because originally there was only 5 cannons. He then
won many battles against England.
There were some rebellions that doesnt like idea of the first rebellion (rebellion in a
rebellion) in France that are planned to destroy Paris, and people asked Napoleon for help, and
Napoleon won the fight against them. He then got promoted to the head of the military service.
Finally, Napoleon made a huge mistake. The war between France and England was
declared, and Napoleon planned that he will spread a lie that he will attack England from
Ireland, but what he actually does is he attacked the colonized part in Egypt first to cut their
supply. His mistake is he stayed in Egypt for too long, and the English attacked France at that
time, but he did not give up. He used his army to fight back, and it succeeded. He thought that
France needs a good, strong ruler, so he declared himself as an emperor.
Reflection: I think I did my best researching for the French Revolution really deeply. This took
me about four hours and a half. The reason that I do this all in one day is that I have a lot of
more work to do in other subjects like Physics quiz (which is extremely hard), and many other
homework. Now I am done with my researching part that I planned with Tarn and Gun, so from
now on, I will be working on the final product.
