2017 - Beyond High School Seminar

Who? Local 8th- 12th Grade Students

Why? To provide information aimed at enhancing the post-

graduation preparedness of those in attendance.

When? Saturday, October 28, 2017 (8 a.m.-noon)

Where? The Bethel Church

This years event will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in conjunction
with The Bethel Church's BEST Academy. This free community event is open to all local 8th thru 12th
grade students and their parents.

The Seminar will begin with an HBCU presentation and an Open Forum with local college students and
military representatives, who will answer students questions and provide helpful information geared to
assist them as they consider their plans for the future. Other seminar components seeks to empower
attendees via sessions entitled Financial Responsibility and Preparing for College (Testing,
Applications, Scholarships, Financial Aid).

At the end of the seminar, students will receive a certificate of attendance and, as an extra bonus, there
will be free give-a-ways and door prizes.
