A 38-year-old female patient underwent a CT scan of the head which found a hyperdense area of blood measuring 34 x 24mm in the left basal ganglionic region, indicating a left basal ganglionic bleed. The bleed was causing mild compression of the left lateral ventricle and a minimal midline shift to the right of 3mm. All other areas examined, including the infratentorial region and ventricles, appeared normal.
