CT STUDY OF HEAD PLAIN AND CONTRAST

Posterior Fossa

 Cerebellopontine angle and prepontine cisterns are seen normally.

 Fourth ventricle is normal in size and midline in location.

 Cerebellar parenchyma and brain stem appears to be normal.

Supratentorial

 Ill defined hypodense area is seen in right fronto-parietal region .No


fresh bleed is seen.

 Cortical sulci are prominent .

 Basal cisterns are seen normally.

 Third and both lateral ventricles are prominent.

 No midline shift is seen.

 Soft tissue swelling is seen in fronto-orbital region .

IMPRESSION:

 SUSPICIOUS RIGHT FRONTO-PARIETAL INFARCT IN EVOLUTION .


 DIFFUSE CEREBRAL ATROPHY .

Clinical correlation is necessary.
