Toluene is an aromatic solvent used for dissolving organic deposits (such as paraffin and asphaltene) in the
tubing/wellbore, on the formation face and near-wellbore region of oil wells. Normally surfactant and dispersant
are used in conjunction with toluene to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment, and to keep the dissolved
organic remaining in the solution. Sometimes static soaking may be required for maximum effectiveness.

Safety Precautions

Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not swallow. Do not breathe vapors or mist. Keep away from heat,
sparks and open flames.

Limitations

Does not have the ability to change formations wettability from oil-wet to water-wet.
Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents
Flammable (stored away from heat, sparks and open flames)
Stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area.
