Statement of the Problem

Some students around the world tend to use their cellphones during class, which impacts their
behavior and academic performances during class hours. Along with this, teachers are affected
due to the class being disturbed.

Specifically, this research attempts to answer the following questions for Grade 10 students:

1. What are the negative effects of using mobile phones to the performance of Grade 10
students during lecture hours?

2. Is the distraction from mobile phones linked to the students lost of interest in lectures
that eventually leads to their poor performance?

3. What are the positive effects of not using mobile phones during class hours to the
Grade 10 students?

Scope and Delimitation

This research focused mainly on the effect in the behavior and academic performance of Grade
10 students of SNA:CCEI, with regards to the usage of cellular phones during class hours. Since
cellphones are starting to become a must to every individual especially to students today, we,
the researches are here to dissect what effects can it bring to SNA:CCEIs Grade 10 students.

This study is not open to all students, it is limited only to (insert number of students) Grade 10
students of SNA:CCEI in Poblacion Macabebe, Pampanga. The attainment of this study is limited
only to these said students, which are the only respondents. Each student will be assessed and
be given the same set of questionnaires (if questionnaires will be used) and each answer will be
thoroughly examined and interpreted.

This is also limited only to the effect of using this gadget during class hours, usage of the device
other than these hours are not part of the scope of this research.

The study will be conducted in this school year 2016-2017, Grade 10 students before and
beyond the said school year do not qualify to be part of this research. It is only limited and only
up to the extent of the school year mentioned.
