Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
Glogster uses all ISTE standards. Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational
Thinker, Creative Communicator, Global Collaborator

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Glogster is an online or mobile app that brings a poster or map alive by making it interactive. The user can upload pictures and
videos to a template or blank page and turn it into a virtual universe by playing audio, watching videos, and reading descriptions.

INTEGRATION IDEA PRESENTATION

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students presentation/speaking/communication skills?
After a lesson on the 13 colonies, I would ask the students to pick a region they would like to focus on. They would use their
creativity and download a map of their region that would take their fellow classmates on a virtual tour of what it was like for
those colonists. The requirements would include: at least one audio file (can be them pretending to be a colonist, describing what
their life is like), a map for the background of the region, a least one video clip, three short written descriptions, and two pictures.
After they have made the requirements, they are free to add as much as they want and make it their own virtual tour as long as it
gives the perspective of the colonists lives in that region.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.
I would rate Glogster a 3 because it is not only informational, it allows students to dive into the content they exploring. History,
for example, is a great use of a virtual poster because images, maps, audio files, and clips can allow them go back in time and
allow them to experience what they are trying to learn, gaining better perspectives.
