Problem
A hydrocarbon oil at 66oC enters inside a horizontal pipe
with an inside diameter of 0.925 cm and a length of 4.6
m with a flow rate of 36 kg/h. The inside pipe surface is
assumed constant at 177oC since steam is condensing
outside the pipe wall and has a very large HTC. Neglect
resistance of the steam and pipe wall. The properties of
the oil are:
Cpm= 2 kJ/kgK
Km= 0.144 W/mK
The viscosity of oil varies with temperature as follows:
66oC 6.5 cP
93 5.05 cP
121 3.8 cP
149 2.82 cP
177 1.95 cP
