1. Descriptive research: It is used to describe characteristics of even a
population or a phenomenon being studied.

2. Correlational research: The exploration of relationships between


variables, the link between different things.

3. Experimental research: Is a systematic and


scientific approach to research in which the
researcher manipulates one or more variables.
4. Cognitive Domain: This domain includes content knowledge and
the development of intellectual skills, it means the recall of specific
facts and concepts.

5. Multitasking and Cognitive brownout: Is an


apparent human ability to perform more than
one task, or activity, over a short period.

6. Affective Domain: Includes factors such as students motivation,


attitudes, perception and values.
7. Psychomotor domain: This domain is characterized by progressive
levels of behaviors from observation to mastery of a physical skill.

8. Socratic dialogue: is an argument or series of arguments using the


question-and-answer method.

9. Moral development: is the process through


which children develop proper attitudes and
behaviors toward other people in society, based on social and
cultural norms, rules, and laws.
10. Self-fulfilling prophecy: is a belief that comes true because we are
acting as if it is already true.

11. Problem-based inquiry: An instructional strategy,


which is based in the context of a problem, and in
which students collaboratively solve the problem and reflect
on their experiences.

12. Debilitating Anxiety: Its said to be


suffering from anxiety disorders, such as
phobia, panic disorders, and generalized
anxiety disorder.
13. Facilitating anxiety: Is a positive form of anxiety that keeps a
learner motivated to succeed. This type of anxiety does not hinder test
preparation and test taking abilities.

14. Cognitive development: is a field of study in


neuroscience and psychology focusing on a childs
development in terms of information processing, conceptual
resources, etcetera. The development and cognitive psychology is
compared to an adult's point of view.

15. Psychosocial development: This


identity is composed of the different
personality traits that can be considered positive or negative.
16. Working/ Short Term Memory: is the capacity for holding, but not
manipulating, a small amount of information in mind in an active,
readily available state for a short period of time.

17. Long term Memory: is the stage of the dual memory model
proposed by the Atkinson and Shiffrin and informative knowledge can
be stored for long periods of time.

18. Scheme & schema: is a systematic


plan of future action while schema is
an outline or image universally applicable to a general conception,
under which it is likely to be presented to the mind.
19. Failure to retrieve: is the apparent loss or modification of
information already encoded and stored in an individual's long-term
memory.

20. Failure to store: refers to the brain's occasional failure to create a


memory link. Encoding refers to the brain's ability to store and recall
events and information.

21. Maslows Hierarchy of Need: is a motivational


theory in psychology comprising a five tier model of
human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels
within a pyramid.
22. Instrinsic Motivation: refers to behavior that is driven by internal
rewards. In other words, the motivation to engage in a behavior arises
from within the individual because it is naturally satisfying to you.

23. Extrinsic motivation: Extrinsic motivation refers


to behavior that is driven by external rewards
such as money, fame, grades, and praise.}

24. Constructivism: as a paradigm or worldview posits that learning is


an active, constructive process.
25. Plagets Cognitive stages: is a comprehensive theory about the
nature and development of human intelligence.

26. Howard Gardner/multiple intelligences:


This theory has emerged from recent cognitive research and
documents the extent to which students possess different kinds of
minds and therefore learn, remember, perform, and understand in
different ways.

27. Blooms Taxonomy: Bloom's Taxonomy was


created under the leadership of Benjamin Bloom
in order to promote higher forms of thinking in learning and
education, such as analyzing and evaluating,
rather than just remembering facts.
28. Plasticity: the brain's ability to change at any age.
