Collaborate to Identify and Assess “At-Risk” Students’ Needs & Placement if needed (D) -
Leeland IEP last spring

Reconvene of IEP for student. Student was demonstrating disruptive, violent behavior, and fleeing in
classroom, playground, lunchroom, bathroom, and specials.

On the agenda:
1. Sensory breaks – how are they doing?
a. Decision to not continue sensory breaks for 4 weeks and reassess
2. Paraprofessional assignment – how is the student working with his current aide
a. He is physically and verbally abusive to aide
b. He also flees the aide routinely
c. Suggested that in PE the aide does not need to come to class
3. Medications? Are they being taken or is he spitting it out
4. Common language to be used between staff members
5. Common interventions
a. First try to correct
b. Talk him out of behavior
c. Give him a chance to fix it
d. DO NOT THREATEN TO TAKE AWAY IPAD
