Philip Fowler has over thirty years of rich architectural and interior design experience, both abroad

and in India. He was for seven years Senior Architect for the world renowned Sri Lankan architect

Geoffrey Bawa and was in charge of number of major projects particularly resort hotels and

institutional projects and many of these have been widely featured in international journals He has

worked on prestigious projects such as The New Sri Lankan Parliamentary Complex, The Presidential

Secretariat, The British Council Head Quarters, and was also in charge of all Hotels, Resorts and

Interior Design Projects. These have been extensively featured in many international journals, and

have won several international awards. He returned to India in 1987 and joined the leading Architect

of Coimbatore, Mr.T.S.Ramani Sankar as a Partner. The firm established over 40 years ago, is one of

the leading firms in the south and are consultants for major corporate groups and institutions with

works designed across the country. In November, 2006 he joined the firm, Mini M Fowler as a Partner

to meet new architectural challenges in her expanding practice. He is also the Past Chairman of the

Board of Governors of Stanes Anglo-Indian School, Coimbatore and Past Chairman and member of

the Board of Governors of the Laidlaw Memorial School, Ketti, Director of GEM-TELERGON

SWITCHGEARS (an Indo-Spanish Co.,) and Director of Compass-Impex Pvt. Ltd., He was a past

Chairman of the Indian Institute of Architects, Coimbatore Centre. He has been a visiting examiner for

several architectural schools and has been the advisor for Architecture and Urban design for INTACH

- Coimbatore Centre for over 20 years. He is a keen conservationist and completed the listing of the

major heritage buildings of Coimbatore for INTACH in 1987 and was instrumental in saving the

Victoria Town Hall (now restored) from destruction.
