Readers are naming and noticing what characters do in books to learn about them. They
know their characters well and make predictions about what will happen next in the story.
Writing: Writers write opinion letters for social action.
Writers have chosen a topic, formed an opinion, and are providing supportive reasons and a
possible solution for their topic.
Math: Measurement
Mathematicians are focusing on understanding length. They measured a variety of objects
using a variety different sized units (paperclips, connecting cubes, and one inch tiles).
Science: Pebbles, Sand, and Silt
We just started this unit. We are observing several different kinds of rocks. We will com-
