Miss Lewiss Class News Week of January 27th

What Were Learning


Reading: We will work on fairy tales, fables, and folktales and compare and contrast different versions. Language Arts: We worked on contractions last week and will be working on possessives this week. Spelling Words: against, old, happen, several, someone, slowly, follow, better, since, answer Writing: We are writing opinion pieces about books that we have read. They must start with an introduction, state our opinion, have reasons to support it, and a closing to wrap it up. Math: We will continue working on solving problems involving coin collections and begin working on partitioning circles and rectangles into halves, thirds, and fourths. This will develop their background knowledge for fractions next year. Social Studies: We are learning about Jackie Robinson and civil rights.
