Spelling Words: than, first, went, been, no, shade, stroke, beak, slice, use *Our Words Their Way focus is reviewing long vowels. Writing: We will begin working on descriptive writing. Math: We will finish our unit on measurement and begin comparing numbers. Challenge your child to compare numbers that are written in different ways (ex: base-ten blocks, expanded form, etc.). Social Studies: We will finish our unit on the Creek and Cherokee and study Sequoyah. Ask your child about Sequoyah.

Classroom News & Reminders *If your child is bringing a lunch from home on Monday, please pack things that are disposable! Also, make sure they are dressed comfortably. Common Core Tip of the Week By the end of 2nd grade, students should know all one-digit addition facts from memory (not using fingers ). It is important to continue to practice these at home!
