During the Senior Project you will keep an up-to-date record of the effort, problems, solutions,
results, and time you have spent working on your project. This log will be a part of the portfolio
that you will turn in before your presentation. Your log will be checked twice throughout the
course of the year.
Directions: There are two parts to your log entries. The first part pertains to the facts regarding
your project including dates, time spent, tasks, and resources. Be as specific as possible when
filling out your tasks section. You may want to use bullet points to organize your ideas. The
second part is a reflective writing on your feelings about the project. You must use complete
sentences in the reflective section.
1. Explain what you did during this log period. The length of this section will depend on the
amount of time you have spent on the project during this period of time. If you collected
money, where have you deposited it? *Submit at least one artifact as evidence of work done
on this log. An artifact may be a picture, video, rough draft, letter signed by your mentor, etc. I
assembled the forge and anvil.
2. What problems have you encountered so far? Were you able to solve them? How? or
Why not? I had trouble with my drill and the drill bit not cracking the firebrick to screw in the
flange and piping along with it. I was not able to solve it, instead I just scraped it and drilled air
holes without pipes.
3. How have you adhered to or adjusted your original timeline? What adjustments have you
made? Not really. I feel behind the timeline and procrastinated. I worked faster as an
adjustment.
4. What are your feelings or thoughts about the project at this time? I'm really enjoying it.
5. Have you had any successes, or have you learned something new? I learned that i'm
pretty good at mixing cement and making a mold out of wood to poor it in to.
