A Narrative Report for the Earthquake Drill

I. Introduction

The yearly implementation on the conduct of the National Simultaneous Earthquake

Drill in all schools is a timely and practical wake-up call for the survival of our young

generation. During these times when un predictable natural calamities and tragedies

happen, the only thing that we could do is to think of how we could save and protect

ourselves from these disasters.

II. Activities

On July 23, 2017 at exactly 9: 00 am, (Grade 7 and Grade 10) and 1: 40 pm (Grade 8 and

Grade 9) Emilia Ambalada Poblete National High School teachers conducted an Earthquake

Drill. All pupils from seventh grade up to the tenth Grade participated in the said drill.

Orientation of school on the importance of the drill were first relayed to the pupils. Teachers

used power point presentation depicting the effect of earthquakes to let the pupils

internalized and understand better the importance of being alert and ready in order save their

lives and also the lives of others. School utilized the school bells to signal the tremor. Pupils

fell in line while swiftly going out of their rooms and sought safer places to stay. They also
 placed their bags on their heads to cover them from falling debris. Others who chose to stay

in their rooms sought shelter beside durable tables and wooden chairs. After the drill, the

pupils were given time to meditate and review the things that they had experienced.
