Subject: Request to issue tax reduction advice to AGPR (Dr. Imtiaz A. Kazi, DG MOFA)

Vide Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad Notification No. dated 28 July 2017 (copy
attached), the undersigned has joined the Directing Staff/Faculty at the National Defence University
Islamabad w.e.f. 31 July 2017.

2. According to FBR’s Rules, Faculty at the NDU (including at other Universities, research
institutions) is accorded 40% discount in their income tax. A letter from the Commandant National
Security College of NDU confirming this position and also of my joining the NDU w.e.f. 31 July 2017 is
attached.

3. As instructed by the AGPR, the Office of the Chief Accounts Officer MOFA Bldg. Islamabad is
required to send appropriate advice to the AGPR so that the deduction of Income Tax is adjusted
accordingly.

4. In view of the foregoing, CAO Office is requested to do the needful by sending appropriate
advice to the AGPR (after due calculations in my IT returns) from my monthly salary. I shall also
appreciate if AGPR is advised to adjust the IT deduction made in excess during the months of August
and September (even October) either refunded or adjusted in subsequent months’ deductions.
