7th lesson

● Welcome routine:

- HELLO SONG :

The teacher introduces herself/himself and invites students to sing the Hello song.

The teacher mentions student’s name, NOT the names in the song.
- Call the roll

- FEELINGS: The teacher asks students how they feel. Each feeling adjective
is mentioned – “how are you today?””Are you … today?” then, sing the “If you
are happy and know it” song. Students must sing and perform the actions too.

- DATE & WEATHER:The teacher asks students the questions in the

introduction of the weather song - What day is it today? And what’s the
weather like? - and writes the date with student’s help. They must provide
day of the week, month, ordinal number and weather adjective. When
teacher asks “What's the weather like today?” uses weather flashcard
(SUNNY, CLOUDY, RAINY, HOT, COLD)

- Sing the weather song

- PASSWORD: “The haunted castle”

TAPS:

- Sing the seven days of the week song. Students should use the “seven days
of the week” photocopy they cut out before.
- Rhyme: Then, students must practise the rhyme, all together.
Rhyme:

The days of the week

Are seven in a row

The days of the week

How quickly they go.

- Students practise the tongue twister all together.
Tongue twister:

Monday, tuesday

Wednesday, Thursday, whoops!

Friday, whoops!
Thursday,
Wednesday Tuesday,
Monday

- The teacher asks students to change seats. After they have chosen a new
seat, tell them to check under the chairs. The teacher must stick pictures of all
the characters in Our English World 2 before the class, one for each student.
Once they have found a character, the teacher plays music and asks them to
walk around the class. When the teacher stops the music, they have to
pretend to be the character, change their voices and ask the other characters
“Hello, How are you today?” and “What’s your name”. They also have to say
goodbye. Then play more music and continue until they have talked to
everyone else.

- Mindfulness: “Balloon”

- Students must sit comfortably, with their eyes

closed and their spine reasonably straight.
- They must bring their attention to their breathing.
- They Imagine that have a balloon in their tummy.
Every time they breathe in, the balloon inflates.
- Each time they breathe out, the balloon deflates.
They may notice the sensations in their abdomen
as the balloon inflates and deflates. Their
abdomen rising with the in-breath, and falling with the
out-breath.
- Thoughts will come into students mind, and that`s okay,
because that is just what the human mind does. Simply students
must notice those thoughts, they bring their attention back to
their breathing.
- Likewise, they can notice sounds, physical feelings, and
emotions, and again, just bring their attention back to their
breathing.

- Retell the story.

- Round of questions : The teacher puts in a bag pictures representing the
scenes of the story. Play “one dark, dark night” song and students must pass
the ball or other object. When the teacher stops the music, the student who
has the ball pick a card and answer “What’s this?” He/She tells what
happened in that part of the story. Repeat it.

- The teacher asks students what might be different if the story was called “The
haunted castle”. They must draw a haunted castle. The teacher should show
them a picture of a castle.

REVISION OF PREVIOUS YEAR CONTENT: Present continuous.

The teacher introduces the verbs.

Look and mime the actions. Students in the order team have to
guess, what are they doing?
- CLOSING SONG: Students sing “The alphabet song”.
