o Brief Youtube video on the Civil War
 Discuss what we saw in the video and the significance
 This provides them with a hook to spark their interest
 Cooperative Learning
o Give the students an excerpt from M. Gen. Milroy’s biography
 Have them read and answer questions in small groups
 This gives them a chance to work on their communication skills
 Student Led
o Have the students create PowerPoint presentations on what they learned about M.
Gen. Milroy
 Have them present their slide shows to the class in their small groups
 This gives the students a base in public speaking skills and allows them
to work as a team

c. This would be good for the Class Discussion type teaching strategy because the students
could respond to a question I posted and see when all their work is due with the built in
calendar.
2. Google Docs

c. This online program helps the students in their Cooperative Learning by allowing them
to make changes to a document simultaneously and the changes saved to every
person’s account.
3. Emaze

b. Free for basic presentation templates
c. This is a cool and unique way for the students to give presentations so they don’t all end
up using the same template this program fits well under the Student Led strategy.
