Thank you for our wonderful PTA for providing lunch for the staff this Wednesday!

Thank you City of Henderson!

Through the reallocation funds from the marijuana law,

the City of Henderson gave the monies earned from that
law to the schools in Henderson. Each school had to apply
for the funds and funds were awarded individually by
each school.

Our school received funding in the amount of $42,000.00

to go towards Lexia, AIMS, MAPS, Textbooks, and
Resource Room Aide hours.

These funds do not completely cover all the costs but due to the
funding those costs do not come out of our district budget or are
relied solely on our community to fund.
We are hosting the AppleCore Ceremony Wednesday on our campus at 1:00 pm for our school and 2 other top
finishers. We will be receiving our City of Henderson funding money at the City Council meeting on Tuesday,
May 15th.

Parent Surveys Turned In: Thank you for submitting your community-school surveys we had 305 turned in and even some
feedback on the forms (which is always appreciated). The results are below as follows:
 53% responded to leave all current operating procedures as currently are (section one)
 38% responded to keep the campus closed in am and open in pm (section two)
 42% responded to keep Open House on same night as Meet and Greet (section three)
 14% responded to keep PTA meetings at 6 pm and 17% want to bring their children (section hour)
 84% responded to being able to supplement supplies not covered by the state or district (section five)
*Surveys turned in are available for review in the front office.

Thank you Staff and Families: Thank you to all the staff, students, and families for taking time to give thanks to all the
ladies in our front office last Wednesday for Administrative Professionals Day!

SBAC Parent Participation: Students are working so diligently on their testing! We are proud of them and are 50% finished!
We are asking that you write positive notes to your child each day they are testing.

We also have school-wide quiet hours from 9:30-11:30 and adjust lunches and specialists schedules to
give our students the optimal testing environment. Once a student has begun a test, they cannot leave
school and come back into the building to pick up where they left off (all sections once started must be
finished).
*These tests do not affect your child’s reportcard grades or next year’s class placement and scores do not come out until July or August.

Did you know…For each day of SBAC testing, students put their names in a drawing for a chance at a
free bike! We gave away 6 more bikes last week to our 3 testing classes! Bike drawings will continue
throughout testing.
