First Friday Mass

(The Commentator will present what to be observed the whole duration of the Mass,
highlighting the solemnity of the said celebration)

Introduction

Good morning brothers and sisters in Christ!

Today, July 1, 2016 the thirteenth Friday of Ordinary time we come to celebrate the
Sacred Union of Christ and His Church

In our readings, the Lord tries to remind us about the upcoming salvation and Judgment
that will occur during the last days and on how important is the role of Jesus Christ as the bread
of life to the man. And on the Gospel, Jesus wanted to show that a savior does not come to save
those who considered themselves saved but to those who considered themselves not and admit
that they need God to rescue them from sins.

Brothers and Sisters, it is with good reason, then, that we begin the Carmelian’s Month
by admitting that we are sinners and we are in need of a savior that will save us. Let us pray that
may the Lord warm our hearts and open our hands to do God’s work. Let us pray that the unity
we experience in this liturgy will keep us together as a community of learners.

Our presider for today’s celebration is Our Father Martin Pierek, O.Carm. With one voice, let us
now all stand to join the Choir in singing our entrance hymn.
