I. INTRODUCTION
The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary
education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]) to
provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare
graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and
entrepreneurship. This program aims not only to produce better graduates but also to improve
the quality of life of the country as a whole.
The program is designed to enable graduates to join the work force right after high school, and
suitably prepare those who want to go on to higher education. It serves as a stepping stone to
make the learners competitive globally. It is a start for a brighter future, and one way to make a
living. All in all, the enhanced K-12 curriculum is designed to provide a holistic education for all.
In the implementation of the K to 12 curriculum, the Department of Education work hand in
hand for the incoming Senior High School years. Activities were conducted like symposium,
meeting etc. involving teachers, parents, local government units as well as students to promote
SHS, to develop their decision – making skills and help students realizing the value of self –
awareness in the process of choosing a Senior High School track.
The Lapuyan National High School is given the privileged to open Senior High School. As part of
the preparation, the Grade 10 advisers conducted the CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM relative to
DepEd Order No. 41 s.2015. The said activity aims to guide Grade 10 students/SHS entrants in
making informed decisions regarding their choice of SHS track in view of the conduct of SHS
early registration.
II. ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
On the first week of the CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM, the Grade 10 advisers disseminate the
information needed and impart the Module 1 Career Guidance Manual entitled “EMBARKING
ON A JOURNEY OF SELF AWARENESS”. It is all about the learner’s discovery of who they are in
terms of their likes, values, skills, and interests. They are expected also at the end of this
module to understand oneself by exploring who they are and what they are capable of.

On the second week of the CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM, the Grade 10 advisers impart the
Module 2 Career Guidance Manual entitled “EMBARKING “EXAMINING THE DESTINATIONS”. It
informs learners of the possible resources they may use in realizing their dreams through the
Senior High School (SHS) tracks. It also enlightens the learners on the significant role of self –
awareness in the process of choosing an SHS track.
This module has two sessions: Session 1 tackle important information on Senior High School
and brief lectures on Academic Track and Technical – Vocational – Livelihood Track; Session 2
tackle on Arts and Design Track and Sport Track.

“STUDENTS ACTIVELY INTERACT AND PARTICIPATE THE DISCUSSION”
Develop their decision – making skill, from simple to critical and life – changing
decisions;
Realize the value of self – awareness in the process of choosing a senior High
School track through the activities that put emphasis in the individual’s
personality; and
Determine a Senior High School track that he or she will pursue.
On the fourth week of the CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM, the Grade 10 advisers discussed the
overall SHS PROGRAM, answers the frequently asks questions and entertained concerns of the
students. The advisers, make them understand well the program and let them realize that they
(learners) are the heart of the SHS CURRICULUM. Additionally, letting them know that this
curriculum recognizes their characteristics, addresses their needs, and values their personal
choice.
The Career Guidance Program ended and successfully finished by having a culmination program
which became very memorable for the students. As part of the advocacy program, parade was
started at exactly 8 o’clock in the morning where the students worn a uniform of their desired
career or profession. This was led by Miss Mary Ann Cervantes and Mrs. Rose Marie Aplaca,
both Grade 10 advisers. The parade was routed within the school campus only. A short program
also was conducted at 9 o’clock in the morning. The master of ceremony was Mrs. Rose Marie
Aplaca. Only one guest speaker from the LGU was invited of the said event, Mr. Francis A.
Duhaylungsod, a Tourism Officer, who shared his wit regarding the Senior High School Advocacy
Program. Certificates of recognition and tokens was given to him.
The program was also warmed and graced by the message of Mrs. Nihma N. Ismula, the school
principal. Her message encouraged and inspired everyone to pursue their ambitions and
dreams.
The program was ended by the closing remark of Miss Mary Ann Cervantes.
Collectively, the celebration was both educating and fun-filled for the students.
