Accomplishment Report CGP Grade 11 Module 5

V. Objectives:

1. Determine the different sources of information relevant to curriculum exits;


2. Evaluate the different sources of information relevant to their preferred
curriculum exit;
3. Match the knowledge and skills to the job market demands and possible
curriculum exits; and
4. Value the importance of a chosen track/strand.

VI. Introduction

The Department of Education reiterated the importance of conducting the CAREER


GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS as part of the curriculum and
as one of the major activities in an institution.

VII. Narrative Report

In line with this module, several activities were prepared for the students - one of
which is "Skill Mo Ba Ito?" The said activity helps the students determine the
qualifications abilities and skills necessary in the preferred profession, vocation and
future; decide on the preferred life and career. Afterwards, the students were seated
in a circle. The chosen "It" of the group will hold the box with the skills list. He then
asks a student from the circle to pick out a paper with a skill written on it from the
box. She then asks the students if they possess such skill by saying " Skill Mo Ba Ito".

In the same module, the students were also shown a Career Progression Sheet.
After looking the sheet, they were then asked if how the activity helps them in choosing
and identifying their strengths, skills, abilities in relation to their chosen career.

The students then were given a Self-Assessment Skills Inventory where they're
going to identify their skills, interest and qualifications. This is in preparation for the
resume writing that will happen in the next activity.

In the resume writing activity, an activity designed to help the students package
their selves for employment purposes. A sample resume template was distributed to all
the participants. They first write their contact details followed by their education
background, training and leadership skills and organizational affiliation.

Lastly, the program ended up with an activity called "Pitch the Speech!" were
the selected students deliver a 20-30 seconds speech about one's strength, skills,
abilities and qualifications usually given during an interview.
VIII. Problems Encounter

At the start of the program, there are students that are less participative and
inattentive. The lecturette had to find ways to motivate them to participate in some
of the activities.

IX. Conclusions/Recommendations
Collectively, the program was both educational and includes lots of fun-filled
activities for the students.
