Hi Teo,

Alright. Kindly find the following for the reply from Pravin, ANSYS India:

To get the velocity fluctuation if you assume the isotropic turbulence then you can get the information
on velocity fluctuation using turbulence kinetic energy as
u_prime = v_prime = w_prime = (3k/2)^(1/2)
However, if you have un=isotropic turbulence, then you would need to either use RSM model or LES
to get the information on each component of velocity fluctuations.
I hope this answers your question.
Should you required further information/clarification, please do not hesitate to contact
me.

Thanks and regards,

Cheong Xiang Hou

Hi Cheong,
I do not require the validation for version 14.5. I will do that upon the release of
version 15. I will send the form over to you when the time comes.

In the meantime, could you provide me with the confirmation on the usage of
turbulent kinetic energy in plotting the Urms contour? Appreciate it.

Regards,

Han Chuin TEO

Hi Teo,

You can search for "Verification Manuals" in the ANSYS Help. It will show you all the
verification done by ANSYS including CFD and FEA.

Should you required further information/clarification, please do not hesitate to
