DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

PROFILE
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2014 with the
approval of 60 intake. The department is catering to the requirements of all the Departments such
as Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Naval Architecture, Petroleum Engineering, Harbour
Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Information Technology. Basic Inputs
are given in both Theory and practice for all the Branches in First and Second year of the Four
year Degree Course. Students are given hands on experience to acquire the technical knowledge.
This helps the students in a big way in understanding the basic Technical knowledge which
forms part of their curriculum. Thus Mechanical Engineering is the backbone of all branches
specified. In addition Collaborative courses such as HND, both STC and GCNS, are given the
basic Engineering Inputs - Theory to enable Cadets to acquire basic skills for further
enhancement during their Education & training at UK

VISION
