STATIC AND FATIGUE CALCULATION AND SIMULATION ANALYSIS OF POLE ON

MONOCABLE ROPEWAY

Background

 Indonesia is one of the country that produce large amount of oil palm.
 Means of transportation that commonly used are truck and wintor, to improve the
effectiveness in oil palm company, the transportations system can be change by using
the monocable ropeway transportation system to cut the cost.
 One of the important part of monocable ropeway is the pole.

Methods

1. Mathematics calculation of pole stress analysis (variation of pole position : straight

track, 60 degree turning track, and 30 degree sloping track).
2. Simulation of pole stress analysis.
3. Simulation of pole fatigue analysis.
4. Mathematics calculation of pole bukcling analysis of pole.
5. Analyzing the result of mathematis calculation and simulation of stress, fatigue, and
buckling analysis.

Materials
The pole material that is used is hollow galvanis steel St27. The dimension of the pole is 100 x 100
mm with 2,8 mm of thickness. hollow galvanis steel St27 has some spesifications, such as :
Tensile yield strength 264,8 mpa
Uts….

Dibawahnya gambar hasil analisa :

The pole can be said to be safe if receiving smaller stress than the yield strength of material

Dibawahnya tabel daya tahan tanah :

1
The pole can stand safely if the soil receive smaller stress than the endurance of soil.

Dibawahnya buckling :
The pole can be said to be safe of buckling if receiving smaller vertikal force than maximum buckling
force calculation

The connection between tension (T) and deflection (z), is the greater the applied tension,
the smaller the deflection occurs on the cable, and vice versa.

With the maximum desired deflection, the largest normal stress (σ) of the cable is ± 9,3
times less than the yield strength of the cable (1960 N/mm2). Because σ << σy, then the
system is safe.

Simulation results on the turn conditions are the same as horizontal conditions because
there is no support for turning conditions in the software where the unavailability of section
properties that can be used as pulley.
