Drawing Office Manager – Construction Industry

 Sydney South Location


 Permanent role - $120K + super
 AutoCAD software – Team of 10 Drafters
Our client is a preferred supplier to most Tier 1 & 2 construction companies in Australia. Their head office is located
in the Southern Suburbs of Sydney, and they operate projects throughout Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra
and Adelaide.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Design Manager and have at least 15 years’ experience in
AutoCAD, preferably in the Australian High Rise Construction Industry

Your responsibilities will include:


 Management of the design & drafting arm of the company,
 Manage a team of up to 10 Draftspersons.
 Evaluating each project early in the design stage, collating all the necessary information such that the best
possible outcomes are achieved.
 Co-ordination between design department, fabrication shop, dispatch facility and construction division,
 Liaise with Engineers/Clients/Architects to obtain all project specifications/information
 Produce AutoCAD - layouts, pre-assembly, assembly drawings
 Resource allocation of the drafting team to control up to 40 projects at a time,
 Work through and discuss complexities with Design Manager,
 Your team will produce Kit list, SWMS and tender documents,
 Discusses critical path for project design, detail, procurement, delivery and dismantling,
 Responsible for ensuring that projects are designed & detailed in accordance to Client documentation &
site logistics,
 Communicate best practice solutions with clients
 Establish and maintain a good working relationship with our clients, builders and suppliers
 Building up Design Team skills
 Teams annual staff reviews,

 Be capable of retaining a running knowledge of multiple projects, each at different stages of their life cycle
as your department has involvement throughout the whole life cycle of the project,
 Have the ability to independently carry out plans to completion,
 Have a can do attitude with a practical work ethic,
 Assist clients, suppliers and site staff with any questions relating to drawings and design
