Generic Setup for Vampiric Item:

I have added this section for those who are not interested to know the details, and just want to know how to setup vampiric set to solo i

Honor Rank 5 or below:

1. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Force Absorb Ring+2
Comments: This is the most basic and cheapest vampiric setup with reasonable leeching capability.

Honor Rank 6:
1. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+2 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+2, Life Absorb Ring+3
2. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+2 x 2, 3% Hp suck Crafted Vampiric Glove, Force Absorb Ring+2
Comments: Setup 1 is pretty common and cheap nowadays. Setup 2 have to depends on your server and crafted item level. In Venus, 3%
any crafted vampiric glove for your class, then stick to setup 1.

Honor Rank 7:
1. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+3 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+3 x 2
2. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+3 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+3, Life Absorb Ring+3
3. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+3 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+3, 3% Hp suck Crafted Vampiric Glove
Comments: Choose setup 1 if u wan more crit rate (bcuz u can wear one extra rol+1). Choose setup 2 if u like more amp (bcuz u can wea
Setup 3 is give you best crit rate and amp, but again depends on your class and server.

Honor Rank 8:
1. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+4 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+4 x 2
2. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+4 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+4, Life Absorb Ring+3
3. Vampiric Amulet+3/+4, Vampiric Earring+4 x 2, Extortion Bracelet+4, 3% Hp suck Crafted Vampiric Glove

Overall:
Vampiric Amulet+3/+4 can of course be substituted with vamp+5/+6.
5% HP suck is max craft for glove, if u can find any.
The setups above are just for reference. To really optimize your leeching capability, you will need to fine-tune it according to your dmg/lv

In-Depth Explanation:

There are 2 major type of Vampiric item:

Option 1: Steal HP/MP for x% of damage:

This type of option is the one that actually have the hp/mp stealing effect. The amount of HP/MP steal = Damage * x%.
However, there are limits of how much HP you can steal per hit on one target. You can only steal as much as HP/MP up till the limits only

Limit 1: Character level divided by 10.

This limit can be extended by the option 2 (Max HP/MP steal per hit + x)

Limit 2: 5% of maximum HP for your character (inclusive of hp buff and equipment).

This limit cannot be extended.

The maximum amount of HP/MP you steal is the smaller of the two limited mentioned. Of course, if your HP/MP Steal Amount is below th
The HP/MP Steal+% or Max HP/MP Steal per hit+x will stack for multiple item. For example, wearing 2 force absorb ring+1 will add 3% x

Option 2: Max HP/MP Steal per Hit + x

This type of option DOES NOT actually steal hp/mp. It adds to the limit 1 to become the maximum amount of HP/MP that you can steal.

Example:

1. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 3000, HP steal = 5%, Damage dealt = 2000, Target = 1 monster.

HP steal 5% effect : 2000 x 0.05 = 100

Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 12

Net Effect : HP 12 x 1 absorb

5% of HP absorb for 2000 damage is 100 HP, but because of limit 1, the maximum amount of HP steal is 120/10 = 12 HP. So without add

2. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 3000, HP absorb = 5%, Max HP steal per hit + 50, Damage dealt = 2000, Target = 1 monster.

HP steal 5%` : 2000 x 0.05 = 100

Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
HP steal limit+50 : Limit 1 extended to 12+50 = HP 62
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 62
Net Effect : HP 62 x 1 absorb

The limit for HP steal in this case is now 12 + 50 = 62. So the added option 2 adds a huge amount of HP steal.

3. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 3000, HP absorb = 5%, Max HP/MP steal per hit + 50, Damage dealt = 2000 per monster, Target =

HP steal 5%` : 2000 x 0.05 = 100

Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
HP steal limit+50 : Limit 1 extended to 12+50 = HP 62
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 62
Net Effect : HP 62 x 5 = HP 310 absorb

The effect of HP steal increase as the number of target monsters increases. However, the limits still apply on each monsters.

4. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 2000, HP absorb = 10%, Increase HP absorption limit + 120, Damage dealt = 2000, Target = 1 mo

HP steal 5%` : 2000 x 0.10 = 200

Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 2000 x 0.05 = HP 100
HP steal limit+120 : Limit 1 extended to 12+120 = HP 132
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 100
Net Effect : HP 100 x 1 absorb
This example shows how the maximum HP affects the limit of HP absorption. This shows that having high maximum HP also is important f

5. Your level = 120, Your Max HP = 3000, HP absorb = 3%, Max HP steal per hit +50, Damage dealt = 1000, Target = 1 monster.

HP steal 3%` : 1000 x 0.03=30

Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
HP steal limit+50 : Limit 1 extended to 12+50 = HP 62
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 62

Net Effect : HP 30 x 1 absorb

Note that if the % HP absorb is not high enough or your damage is not high enough, having a high Max HP steal per hit is useless, becaus
STEAL...

Conclusion:

The two vampiric options (steal HP/MP x% of damage and Max HP/MP Steal per hit + x ) have to work hand in hand in order for effective

List of item with option “Steal HP/MP x% of damage”

- Life/Mana absorption ring
- Force absorption ring
- Extortion ring
- Life/Mana absorp bracelet
- Extortion bracelet
- Vampiric gloves from professional crafting
- Force core upgrade in slotted item (lvl 2 random option, need 2 force cores)

List of item with option “Max HP/MP Steal per hit + x”

- Vampiric Amulet
- Vampiric Earring
- Vampiric helmet and boots from professional crafting
- Force core upgrade in slotted item (lvl 2 random option, need 2 force cores)

For now, one would wear just one x% force absorption ring and a vampiric amulet in grinding to save HP and MP potion (if you configure
level dungeon, vampiric item can even save your life.

It is not hard to note that the common limiter in HP/MP steal is usually limit 1 (char lvl). If you do decent damage (roughly over 1000 dm

very little.

Recommendation: (contributed by xelion)

Some general recommendation to optimize HP/MP steal:
1. If you deal Low dmg, you need to wear more steal % then MAX steal.
2. If you deal High dmg, you need to wear more MAX steal then steal %.
3. If you wear alot of item with MAX steal, % steal, and deal Hig dmg, check your Max HP so that it does not limit the life/mana steal.

Alternative Explanation: (Thanks to Neutralizer's feedback)

The above is the formal definition and explanation for the vampiric option. Some find it hard to understand... So i come up with another
Basically Limit 1 and Limit 2, whichever lower, are the so-called "suction cap" as mentioned by ren99..

Let's put it this way, imagine Limit 1 and Limit 2 are 2 cups. How big is the "cup" depends on how big is the number. The game wants you
absorb).

The amount of water depends on the % Hp/Mp Absorb.

So lets say example,

% HP/MP absorb = 10%, Max HP/MP absorb per hit = 70

Your level = 100, Your Max HP = 2000, Damage dealt = 1500, Target = 1 monster.

You got now 150 ml of water (based on 10% absorb)

Your limit 1 cup is 80ml (based on your current lvl/10 and Max HP/MP absorb opt+70)
Your limit 2 cup is 100ml (based on 5% your current MAX HP)
Now, of this 2 cup, which one is smaller?
The answer is Limit 1 cup right?
So the game wants you to fill up the SMALLER cup now with the water you got.
And now u are trying to pour 150ml of water into 80ml cup...
What happen? The water will spill out right?
In the end, you will only end up with 80ml of water in the cup.
Well, you drink that water and recover 80Hp .

Wasting water is not good right?

So, you can either take less water or find a bigger cup next time ...
