First of all, the librarians are very rude. They often scold us

The racks are very old. We are afraid if would fall anytime. I request the

Apart from that, our library is filled with old and torn books,
which are not suitable for the students. Some of us have asked the C4
teacher in charge to buy new books but he said the library has financial E4
problems.
Other than that, the media equipment is faulty. The students
cannot access computers anytime they want. The television cannot be C5
switched on. We hope that the school will buy a new television or repair E5
the old one.
Finally, the students are not satisfied with the borrowing period,
which is too short. We can only borrow the reference books for two C6
days. We can borrow the story books for one week. We hope the library E6
would expand the borrowing period. This is all I would like to complain
about. I hope you will look into this matter as soon as possible.

Dear Sir,

Complaint About Unsatisfactory Food And Restaurant Service F2

I wish to express my dissatisfaction about the food and service at your


established and well-known restaurant. On behalf of my family, I would Introduction
like to raise a few points regarding this matter. My family and I had
dinner at your restaurant on 08 September 2014 to celebrate my
mother‟s 50th birthday. We expected to have a great time at your
seafood restaurant but unfortunately we did not.

2. Your waiters treated us rudely and inconsiderately. We had to wait


for about half an hour before we could order any food. The waiter C1
spoke to us rudely whilst taking the orders. In fact, he scolded my E1
mother who wanted to have a cup of tea without sugar. He claimed that
the restaurant does not serve such a drink. For your information, my
mother has diabetes and is trying to avoid taking sugary food and drinks.

3. The poorly cooked food was also unsatisfactory. We were C2


surprised to find out that the roast chicken and fish that we had ordered E2
were still raw and inedible. The mushroom soup tasted a bit sour and
the fried prawn was overcooked. We made a complaint about the food to
your waiters and cooks but no further action was taken.

4. Besides, the poorly served food we also felt uncomfortable with the C3
dirty and unhygienic conditions at your restaurant. The food was E3
greasy. There were some cats wandering searching for food. These bad
conditions are harmful as they might get food poisoning and other health
problems.

5. I nearly lost RM57 as a result of the wrongly totalled bill I was C4


given. It was my sister who noticed the unreasonable price of the food. E4
Then, we recounted the bill and found that out it was wrongly calculated.
The total was supposed to be RM120 but the calculation made by the
cashier showed RM177.

6. Another problem that spoiled our evening was the noisy C5


surroundings, especially the yelling of waiters and waitresses calling E5
names and taking orders from the customers. Besides this, the loud
music and noise coming from the kitchen also contributed to this
unsatisfactory situation. What more disappointing were the defective
fans and air-conditioners? The weather was very humid and there were
a lot of people in the restaurant. There are also old and uncomfortable C6
furniture in your restaurant.

7. Hereby, I would like to make suggestions to help you solve these


problems. First of all, I suggest that you look at your restaurant and
make sure no more cats and other stray animals are on your premise.
You should also train your waiters and cooks to provide good service E6

and food to customers. It would be better to use a calculator to avoid


mistakes in totalling the bill. You need to repair the defective fans and
air-conditioners immediately. Last but not least, cleanliness should be
maintained in all parts of your restaurant. I hope that you will look into
these complaints and take immediate actions. It is very important to
remember that „The Better The Service, The Better The Business‟.

As students, it is our responsibility to keep our environment

Therefore, students should plan a time-table. They can also

studying more effective and avoid unnecessary pressure.

of the novel is love.

class teacher whenever being called.

many reasons why I choose him.

medicine every day. He would also buy food for Granda during his
school lunch break. To Rory, Granda was everything and he loved his
grandfather very much because after his mother died, Granda was

Based on the novel that I have studied, Catch Us if You Can Introduction
by Catherine MacPhail, at the end of this novel, Rory had a great
shock in his life when he thought that his grandfather was dead before
he at last met his biological father and together with his grandfather,
they both reconciled with Jeff McIntosh, Rory‟s father, his stepmother
and his two sisters. Rory then had a happy time with his new found
family.
When Granda fainted at the bus shelter while on their run, Evidence +
Rory ran away to get help, leaving Granda at the shelter. He received Example
a help from a stranger who recognised him from the news on the
television. He and his grandfather were taken to the hospital but on
their way, a man whom Rory thought a policeman in plain clothes sat
beside him in the patrol car and he later found out that the man was
his father.
Rory spent the next few days with his new found family while at Evidence +
times visiting his grandfather who was recovering at the hospital. His Example
father‟s wife, Karen was kind as she came and asked Rory to go and
stay with them while Granda was hospitalised. He also found out that

are a few characters who kept secrets and eventually the secrets
were exposed.

First of all are Mohd. Asraf and Madhuri. They were secret
lovers. They planned to secretly run away to Kuala Lumpur. After Evidence +
Madhuri died followed by hid grandmother‟s death, he almost lost his Example
mind. Keeping his love a secret was very difficult. He was easily
influenced by Puan Normala that his grandmother was poisoned by
Old Lady. That was the reason why he burned the Old lady‟s house
causing her death. Finally, he realized his mistakes and come to his
senses.

Secondly is En Saleh Abdullah, Azreen‟s father. He was always


proud of Madhuri. Madhuri made him proud when she agreed to
marry the village headmen, haji Ghani. When her affair was Evidence +
discovered, Encik Saleh got very angry and accidentally killed Example
Madhuri. He never told anyone until Azreen confronted him. Actually,
he was ashamed because the daughter he was really proud of had

I consider an event that look place in Chapter 10 of the novel, Introduction


The Curse a memorable event. That event took place when Asraf
told Azreen that Madhuri has always been the women he loved
although he knew she was a married woman. In fact the fell in love
with her the moment he met her. His love for Madhuri was
reciprocated. When Azreen heard his confession, she shocked
beyond words as she had feelings for him. This incident is Evidence +
memorable as I learnt about control of one‟s emotions. Because Example
Azreen was able to control her anguish and pain, she became a
stranger person.

This event also taught me about being able to forgive. Azreen


learnt to forgive Asraf for betraying her love for him. At last she Evidence +
realized that when she put aside all her anger, hatred and sorrow, Example
she felt happier and all her emotional burden suddenly disappeared.
Thus, the ability to forgive is a noble act.

After Asraf confessed to Azreen about his relationship with


Madhuri, it is was followed by a series of news. Azreen learns from
the bomoh that Madhuri was not her real sister. The bomoh also
confessed that he was the one left the gate open and had indirectly
led to the motorcycle accident that paralysed her mother. All these Conclusion
shocking incidents had caused so much hurt to Azreen who had no
choice but to put all these behind in order to live a life with no
resentment and anger. In fact, when she visited the graves of her

Character you like the most? Paragraph
The novel that i have read is Step by Wicked Step by Anne Fine. Introduction
The character that i like the most is Colin.

I like him because Colin shows maturity beyond his age.


Although Colin is perhaps too young to understand the conflict faced
by the adults, he has deep hidden feelings about the matter. He
shows maturity by not telling his mother about his feeling towards Evidence +
his stepfather, Jack. However, Colin still loves his mother and Example
accepts the situation. He never blames his mother like any other
children of his age. Instead, he defends his mother's actions. Thus,
his maturity has actually made me like his character very much.

Another reason why I like Colin is because of his


determination. He is determined to look for his stepfather. First, he
writes a letter to his stepfather in his effort to locate his
whereabouts. Then, he saves every penny whenever he gets the
chance. For example, he always prefer cash for Christmas present
from his mother and does three paper rounds to earn money. Colin Evidence +
does all this because he is determined to leave home one day when Example
he is old enough to look for his beloved stepfather. As a child he
does not give up easily but makes a plan to achieve his dreams. I
adore him for his strong will.

Finally, Colin proves to be a very sentimental person. He


remembers everything about his stepfather. He remembers how his Evidence +
stepfather rolls his own cigarette out of tobacco tin. He also Example
remembers the many names that his stepfather gives him - 'Col,
Collie, Sonny-Boy, Buster and Bluebird'. He misses the times when
his stepfather walks with him to school and pushes him up the swing
in the park. In fact, he keeps an exact account on how long his
stepfather has been gone which is five years, eight months and
seven days. The sentimental values in Colin is the reason why he
can stay loving towards his stepfather after so many years. He
treasures all the good things Jack does for him and that has given
him strength. Therefore, i also admire Colin for being a sentimental
person.
The above reasons are why I like Colin the most. Conclusion

Theme of family love Paragraph
The novel that I have chosen to portray the theme of family love is
“Step by Wicked Step” by AnneFine. This novel is regarding five
British school children from Stagfire who shared their joys, sorrows
and anxieties of their family life. It all begin when they arrived ahead
of their classmates for a week-long field trip at "haunted' Old
Harwick Hall. In the stormy wild night, Claudia, Pixie, Robbo, Ralph Introduction
and Colin find a long-abandoned secret room containing a
mysterious journal with the aid of flashes of lightning. They uncover
a heart rending story of Richard Clayton Harwick, who runs away
from the sinister influence of a loveless stepfather. This discovery
triggers off each of them to reveal and share their own engrossing,
heart-rending stories filled with hurting and healing moments way
through a minefield of embittered or uncommunicative or just plain
immature parents, insecure or reluctant step parents and resentful
step siblings. The implied themes in this novel are revealed through
the characters thoughts, speech, actions, reactions and what others
say about them. Thus, based on this novel, I have chosen to write
on Richard Clayton Harwick‟s family members who have portrayed
the theme of family love amazingly and dramatically through sense
of love, devotion and loyalty.

Richard‟s mother, Lilith was the first to portray the sense of


love in the family. She took all the trouble to search for Richard after
he ran away from home. Richard was frustrated as his mother
married Reverend Coldstone after his father's death. Lilith suffered
Coldstone‟s anger as when she spent a fortune seeking for Richard,
their money lessened. Out of love for her beloved son, Richard,
Lilith willingly sacrifices her wealth. She never stopped searching for
him until her death. She died of broken heart because of her Evidence +
undying love for her beloved son, Richard. Example

Charlotte showed her love too through her devotion. She kept
searching for her beloved brother, Richard, after her mother‟s death.
However she faced trouble as she had no money of her own.
Because of her strong family love, she married a rich man she did
not love as he promised to help her find Richard. She was willing to
sacrifice due to her immense devotion to her brother. She managed
to reveal her selfless characteristic through her quest for her
brother.
Richard also showed that he had strong love for his family Evidence +
through his sense of loyalty. Before Richard‟s father died, he tells Example
Richard to take care of his mother and sister, Lilith and Charlotte
Harwick. Richard become depressed as his father had only thought
of his mother and sister instead of him until the end of his life.

Richard become more tensed when his mother marries Reverend


Coldstone, who is cruel towards him. Richard is then sent to a
boarding school called Mordanger School, where he still suffered.
Then he decides to run away and sail all over the world. Although he
ran away, he still came by the house twice to catch a glimpse of his Evidence +
mother and sister due to his love that still lives in him, He finally Example
returns home after he found a note on the captain‟s table from the
solicitors who have stated something to his advantage. He
discovered a letter from his beloved sister, Charlotte, who had
written before her death, In the letter, Charlotte reveals all the
difficulties they had had to undergo. He realized that his mother and
sister was searching for him deliberately. He has restored his loyalty
in the end but his loved ones are gone forever. His final decision of
whether to stay or leave Harwick Hall remains unknown while the
family love will remain in his memories for the rest of his life.

This novel managed to prove that strong family relationship


sustains family bond and heals all the hurting moments through
sense of love, devotion and loyalty. The power of family love leads Conclusion
to reunion and healing in a family. Therefore, we should appreciate
and love our family unconditionally and be prepared to make
sacrifices as when there is strong sense of love, there is
forgiveness , patience, loyalty and devotion growing without force
under the shade of genuine family love.

A memorable event and how the event affects one of the characters Paragraph
in the story.
I choose the novel Step by Wicked Step written by Anne Introduction
Fine. The memorable event from the novel is the honest
conversation between Pixie and her stepmother Lucy. I think that
the conversation is important because it affects Pixie's life.
First of all, I think that the conversation is important because
Pixie has a chance to tell the truth about her feelings. Pixie tells Evidence +
Lucy that she hates to pretend that their family is normal. It is hard Example
for her to accept strangers as family. She dislikes her stepsisters.
When Hetty moves into Pixie's bedroom after quarreling with
Sophie, Pixie is very angry. She tries many ways to get rid of Hetty.
Apart from that, I think that the conversation between Lucy
and Pixie is important because Lucy also gets a chance to express
her feelings towards Pixie. Lucy hates being a step mother. It is very Evidence +
hard for her to take care of someone else's child. Lucy is angry Example
when Pixie when Pixie tries to get rid of Hetty from her bedroom.
Last but not least, I think the heart to heart conversation is
memorable because it improves the relationship between Pixie and
Lucy. They understand each other better. at the end of the Evidence +
conversation, they are crying and hugging each other. After that Example
day, their relationship becomes better and they are more like a
normal family.
In a nutshell, I think that the honest conversation between
Lucy and Pixie is memorable because it improves the relationship
between Pixie and her step family. I learn many things from this Conclusion
novel.

The novel that I have read is Step by Wicked Step by Anne Introduction
Fine. The character that i admire because of the positive qualities is
Robbo.

Robbo is a kind person. His immense kindness was evident in


the way he sought to protect Dumpa. Even though he wished his Evidence +
parents were back together, he worried about how it would affect Example
Dumpa. He did not want his baby half-brother to have to go through
the pain and suffering he and his sister had experienced during his
parents frequent arguments and final separation.

Robbo is also very understanding and sensitive person. He


understood why Roy felt unwelcome in the house and that the only Evidence +
reason he remained there was for Dumpa. The burden and strain Example
his mother went through while trying to referee the fights between
Roy and Callie was not lost on Robbo either. He was willing to put
himself in his mother's and Roy's shoes and tried to understand their
pain.

Finally, Robbo's best quality is his maturity. Due to his maturity,


he was able to accept his parents' separation and bot be jealous or
resentful of Dumpa and Roy. It also helped him realize that drastic Evidence +
changes were needed to keep the family together and to come to a Example
solution that would benefit all parties. He showed a maturity beyond
his years when he confronted his mother and sister directly and
dealt with the situation once and for all.

These are some of the positive qualities that Robbo has Conclusion
displayed and which have drawn my admiration.

Similarities and Differences Paragraph

The novel that I have read is Step by Wicked Step by Anne Fine.
There are glaring differences and some similarities between Richard Introduction
and Robbo. They both make a good comparison of characters.

For similarities, both are products of a broken home and both Evidence +
have to adjust living with a stepfather. Their stepfathers are difficult Example
to live with and so conflicts arise within the family. But this is where
the similarities end.

Their differences are more marked. Robbo refuses to let his


stepfather ruin his happiness. He even tries to mediate between Evidence +
Callie, his old sister and Roy, his stepfather. He loves his half- Example
brother like his own. When situations prove to be difficult, he chips in
to help his mother and stepfather.

On the other hand, Richard handles things differently. His


arguments with his stepfather are so bad that it is impossible for Evidence +
them to love together. He is too stubborn to compromise or at least Example
try to make things better. He allows his stepfather to make his home
like a tomb as he calls it. He feels like a stranger in his own home.
Not surprisingly, he chooses the cowardly way of leaving home. This
is something Robbo would never do. He chooses to make the best
of a challenging home situation.

These are some of the similarities and differences between Conclusion


Richard and Robbo.
