Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Analysis of flow through bend pipes of 90
degrees:
 Pipes and pipe junctions are encountered in different industrial applications like
in thermal power plants or petrochemical industries, IC engines, ventilation or air -
conditioning systems.
 Due to change in curvature fluid flow experiences various forces within and
vortices are formed.
 The energy is extracted from mainstream of the pipe due to which there is a very
large pressure drop.
 The objective was to show excellent visual results to minimize the pumping
costs.
 The computations were in close agreement with experimental results.
