Market Description

San Luis is a third (3rd) class municipality in the province of Pampanga,

Philippines. As of 2015, San Luis has a total population of 54,106, which 50.7% is male

while 49.3% is female.


It has 17 barangays, eight of which are classified as urban with a population of

29,761 or 55% of the total population. The other nine barangays are classified as rural

with a population of 24,345 or 45% of the total population. Barangays Sto. Tomas and

Sta. Cruz Poblacion combined serve as the central business district (CBD) where the

current Municipal Hall, major Catholic Church, and Municipal Public Market are located.
Roman Catholism remains the faith of the majority in San Luis. Trade and

commerce in San Luis is concentrated at the town center where the public market is

located. San Luis has a land area of 5683 hectares or 56.83 square kilometers. San Luis

Pampanga provides preferable locations for the possibility of opening business operations

like hog farms.

As of December 31, 2017, there are 430 registered hog farms in the Philippines

and 16 of them are from Pampanga. However, there is no registered hog farm yet in San

Luis.

The target market will be the public markets of San Luis and other municipalities

in Pampanga. There are 17 meat vendors operating in San Luis public market.
